Moved into a 1bdrm unit in March 2018 with my boyfriend and I. Weeks prior, we had a housing situation come up and we were grateful to have found an apartment in the short amount of time we had...naturally, we jumped on it. We set a move in date for approx 2 weeks after our viewing. On the day of the move in, trucks loaded.. while we were on the way to get our keys at 1:30, we recieved a call at noon stating that our unit wasnt ready and that we couldnt move in. I persisted that we had all of our things packed into boxes, we were then told that we were just not allowed to put anything into our bedroom. About a week after moving in, we overheard neighbors around us talking about "bugs" in their units. The same night, about 3 days after moving in, we came home after dinner to find 13 cockroaches in a variety of locations in our unit. Over the course of the night, we continued to find more. The next day I left several messages to be accused of bring the bugs into the unit. I can go on and on about this story, however reviews seem to trend that messages are left and no reply is recieved. Over the course of March 2018 to Jan 2019, we continue to request weekly treatments and were told repeatedly that was the case. We did not receive the treatments that were promised and each time another phone call went to the office it seemed like a new surprise to them while we were miserable. Thankfully this issue went away after 6 or so months of using our own materials to exterminate. A few months ago, our unit flooded. I recieved a call stating that there were renovations being made to the unit above and that a leak had sprung. The water spread throughout our entire apartment and bubbled paint in several locations in the unit. Initially maintenance was responsive. We had an extraction completed and had 2 large industrial fans blowing for what were told would be 48hrs. A week passed and we still had the fans blowing. After several calls finally they were picked up. Naturally with lead paint, we asked if someone was stopping by to check for mold. We were told a moisture reading was completed and now we were given a dehumidifier to run for the same 48hrs. A week later, I leave a message with the office stating it was still in the unit. Another week passed, 2 more messages. After a month passing, I left one final message. Finally we put the huge thing in our closet. We came home to a letter saying inspections would be completed. I thought, oh good! Maybe they'll fix the lights that were busted from the water damage, the bubble of open dry wall, and the water stains on the sealing! Nope. Nothing said, but the humidifier was taken out of the closet with zero follow up. Throughout the past 1+ year, we have had multiple occasions where emails are sent late at night demanding cars to be moved, multiple stating an inspection would be done (with no one showing up). Lastly, the boiler. From our maintenance log alone, in the course of a 2 month period, our heat went out weekly for over 24hrs at a time. Multiple calls have to be made for emergency maintenance (3rd party I'm assuming?) to request property management to follow up. On each request I've asked a phone call to know when we could turn our heat back on, with no call. I truly could go on and on, but after almost 2 months of 6day a week construction to include men climbing onto your balcony at any given time between 7am-7pm.... I cant hold it in any longer. Wish we were in a better situation to afford moving elsewhere, counting down the days! Update: would still give 1 star. Heat and hot water go out at least 2-3 days a week leaving me having to call people near by to shower or to warm up. I've asked SEVERAL times for a call back from the front office over the course of a year. Not a single call out has been made to me except to resign a lease and when I asked for call? Nothing. Better off going literally anywhere else. Can't wait for this pandemic is over so I can safely move.
