The apartment is nice enough, but the package situation is a huge problem. When they say they have package lockers, what they really mean is that they have one locked package room for three different apartment buildings. It is inevitably disorganized, and I’ve spent a great deal of time looking for packages that the mail carrier has delivered but cannot be found and for which I never received a notification. This could easily be solved by having actual package lockers in each of the apartment building garages, but clearly the management has not cared enough to invest in this

There is a screeching elevator I can hear in my room every few minutes. This only started happening last week. I will change my rating if you guys can fix this. Edit: it's fixed

I just moved into my apartment at The Manhattan and it's been great so far! Tara from the leasing office was really helpful throughout the whole process. She answered all the questions I had and was super genuine, I never felt like I was being scammed or manipulated into anything sketchy (something I've experienced with other leasing offices before). I forgot the name of the other girl in the office that assisted me when I was actually moving in but she was great too! Overall, the place has a very well-staffed leasing office and a really welcoming environment :)

We need a better trash/recycle system. There’s enough space in the trash chute rooms, on each floor, to include a couple large recycle bins with wheels. Other apartments I’ve lived in have always had recycling on each floor in the trash chute room. Having just one place, in the garage, to leave recycling is not working—it’s creating a huge mess and doesn’t have adequate space. If we had additional recycle in the trash chute room, an employee would have to take the recycle bins down for pickup on the designated day, but that’s part of the convenience of living in an apartment complex. Also, why were all the trash cans removed from the garage? Now people just leave their trash where the trash cans use to be. No one cares about the emails that are sent out saying not to do this. I believe it is rude that residents leave trash, but I also don’t understand why trash cans would be removed. I personally believe it makes sense to have a trash can at every entry/exit door of the building. To close, the Manhattan has major trash/recycle issues and I agree there are some residents that are not respectful, however, there are things the Manhattan can do to help alleviate this issue and are refusing to do so. If people are leaving trash places, more trash cans should be added not removed.

The transition of the entry system has been nothing but a nightmare. It's been ongoing for 6+ months where we've been required to manage both systems without any clear estimate of fix. Once the system finally transferred over for my building this week (without any notice), none of the new system worked -- it took two attempts to get access to the garage and my name on the call box is removed, which removed the ability to let others in remotely. I had asked for a temporary FOB given the mess up and the leasing office told me I had to pay for an additional FOB to solve the issue they created. The lack of ownership in this situation has been frustrating. Update 10/26: The response to this sounds like it ignored my frustration with forcing residents to pay for the issues caused by the apartment complex by repeating what I had already shared. The issue resolved itself by finally transitioning over but the frustration continue to pile on. They will now be charging for packages not picked up within 2 days. The complex has turned to a walking advertisement for some credit card I don't care about with signs everywhere. They can also spend money on a wall mural that says "THE MANHATTAN", which provides no value to the residents (maybe future residents), yet they can't afford to offer temporary fobs during the transition.
