Slohi flats is managed by Wheelhouse Apartments. Wheelhouse Apartments is a terrible management company. Avoid signing a lease here at all costs! They don’t clean their apartments before you move in, and the lease has something called a quiet enjoyment clause where you waive your right to quiet enjoyment of the property. Quiet enjoyment covers all sorts of basic amenities including water, heat, snow removal (which is big if your apartment has outside steps) and having a clean unit. When you wave your right by signing the lease, wheelhouse knows they no longer have to put any effort into maintaining their property, and this is legal because you have to agree to it in the lease. As a result, I have been trying to get my apartment cleaned for four days now. Trash is piled to nearly double the dumpster capacity, there is a security light which has a strobe light-bulb, which can be a danger to people with certain medical conditions. And the management suggests notifying them if you need something instead of submitting a maintenance request yourself. DO NOT PUT DOWN A DEPOSIT, DO NOT GIVE THESE SLACKERS YOUR MONEY.
Update: Slohi Flats is no longer managed by Wheelhouse Apartments. the new landlords have fixed the water heater, and have made a smooth transition with the online resident portal.
