Tiny apartment for nearly $1000 a month, no AC, washer or dryer. Laundry room always has problems with machines, have lost countless dollars on broken machines that barely clean your clothes. Always garbage outside and in the alley, and the church next door has street people yelling at all hours of the night. The internet will sometimes be broken because the cabling is a mess and the coax cables will be run over by a garbage truck. Water goes down for repairs for hours on end bi monthly, and did I mention there's no air conditioning? Moving in July and I couldn't be happier to not renew this lease. Screw Winbro, screw boutique apartments, and screw whoever is in charge of the laundry room in particular.

The location is great for price in theory. But the constant unexpected charges and maintenance making a mess of your apartment make the price point just not worth it. The $100+ that you would spend to live in a nicer apartment nearby is definitely worth it. Packages are frequently stolen, at any one given day 1-3 transients live directly next to the exit door, and I’ve had maintenance recklessly tend to problems and cause $80+ in damage to my personal property—which despite my repeated efforts Wheelhouse apartments never did anything about.

I’ve now lived here for almost 2 years and wanted to add a new review to my original. I now rate this building 5-stars. (Latest Review) It’s an old building, you’ll probably run into some issues but maintenance will fix those right away, you just need to be proactive. This isn’t a luxury apartment and they don’t charge you luxury apartment rates. Great location. The water is a little bit murky, get a water filter, they actually give them out for free. Sure Colfax is dangerous, but it’s 2 blocks away. Don’t go walking that way at 1am in the morning. Lots of homeless it’s kind of a shame, was chased by a homeless man back to my apartment once as he was threatening me and calling me names (not sure why..). That’s Denver for you. (First review) The original review remains below, however, I feel an update is necessary. Each time I have submitted a maintenance request including for the cockroach issue listed below, the maintenance team comes almost immediately. The cockroach issue resolved itself within days of me listing the review, because I filed a request and the maintenance team immediately came (twice) and performed two applications of pesticides. The break-in was largely due to leaving the window unlocked, and while it is still early into my rent, I feel at least some degree of comfort as far as break ins by locking my window and having the maintenance team install screens over them. The first week I moved in here, my apartment was broken into and my things were stolen. This apartment building is literally cockroach infested. If they told me it was unsafe and had cockroaches there’s no chance I would have moved in, now I’m counting down the days until my lease is up. Do not make my mistake and be lured in by the cheap rent!!
