A clear case of taking advantage of the elderly!!
My 88 year old mother paid over $1200 dollars for this company to clean up her yard and take it down to dirt, prep for a new lawn, and provide an estimate for installing the new lawn. They did a very poor job of clean up, left a ton of weeds, never returned to finish and have not provided an estimate for the new lawn. She called them and complained and despite promises to return they cashed the check and disappeared. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!!

DON’T BOTHER!! Although I would ordinarily chalk it up to experience, I feel compelled to pass along our feedback about this business, particularly it’s lawn care operation and billing practices. I do this in hopes that others will be spared the aggravation and frustration of dealing with Alpengardener. After our most recent experience, we can ONLY conclude that they are intentionally unethical and dishonest in their dealings with customers.
Despite several billing issues and questionable charges last year, we hired them (again) to mow and edge our VERY SMALL yard for the summer. What a mistake! After two visits, we received an invoice for more than $600! We were astonished and felt certain that the charges were, yet again, an oversight or mistake. We attempted to reach the manager to discuss the invoice and even left multiple messages (via phone and email) requesting a return phone call or explanation - to no avail! Not only were the number of hours (for mowing) overstated, we were also charged for an array of services and “maintenance” that was NEITHER authorized NOR performed on our property. (For example, this year it supposedly took their worker 2 hours to mow/edge; last year it took only 1 hour. ??? In actuality, it took my husband less than 45 minutes to mow/edge the entire yard!)
After multiple attempts to reach anyone by phone or email for an explanation, we finally demanded a face-to-face meeting, hoping to get to the bottom of the overcharges. We believe that it is the owners’ practice to charge whatever they believe the customer will pay. In our case, charges were either inflated or fabricated (based largely upon past invoices), regardless of whether or not the work was actually performed. This is definitely NOT an ethical way to run a business. Shame on you, Alpengardener!
