Responded same day to broken spring which made opening the garage door impossible. Made the new springs and installed them early the next day. Great service. A little on the expensive side but if you pay for what you get, it was a fair price.

My garage door opener was old. Overhead Door had all my records for my garage door. They installed a new opener right away and it is quieter than the old one. Works great. Answered all my questions and provided all the new info. I heartily recommend Overhead Door!!!

I'm not quite sure what is happening here.
The last time I bought a torsion spring here was in 2016 for $45. Service was great, so I thought I would go with them again this time. Called this week and was told torsion springs "start" at $350 and go up, depending on size (I know inflation is real, but 8x in as many years?????).
I did some research and then called again today to make sure that I was getting the right price for the right product as I had found it other places for $50-75 (though most would have to be ordered and shipped, but the convenience of getting it fixed this weekend would not be worth paying 5-7x more). I clarified that I just wanted just the part, and I would install it myself. I think it may have been the same person, and they gave me the same generic quote, were quite dismissive, and didn't even let me give them the exact numbers to get an exact price.
Bought it from another location in the state for $73.
I am not sure if the person answering the phone is maybe new and does not know what they are doing and were quoting me the installed price even though I asled several ways and clarified that i just wanted parts, if they just don't want to sell parts and only sell install services so they moved the price for parts into the same range as repairs, or if maybe someone is charging extra and pocketing the difference, but something is definitely off here.
Edit: I reached out to the company via email as requested and have not gotten a response a month later.
Edit 2: I did get a response the second time reached out.
Big shock, I was receiving a service quote and not a parts quote.
I am still frustrated by this as I could not get the person on the phone either time to listen to what I was saying and give me the quote I was requesting, which resulted in a lot of frustration and wasted time.
It has became a fairly common business practice to pretend like the internet does not exist and not include prices online, but if a place chooses to force us to call to get information that should be on their website, they should at least be capable of giving an accurate quote over the phone.
We should be forced to be a Karen and demand to speak to a manager to get someone to do their job.
