Holt Family Funeral Home has always been our choice. When my mom passed away nearly 40 years ago, they did a wonderful job. And now my brother Pete will have his services and reception there as well

Holt Mortuary went above and beyond expectations and cared for all the needs of the family. The meal was excellent and I will be using Holt for my needs when the time comes.

I ordered through Holt and paid for a marker stone for my great grandmother who died in 1938 and was buried near my grandfather and great grandfather in Lakeside Cemetery in Canon City.  It has been 15 months since I ordered the stone and the stone has still not been made or placed.  In my latest communications with the Canon City cemetery manager, it appears that there may not be room for the marker stone at the site. Apparently Holt never wet to the site or communicated with the cemetery management staff to verify that a stone can even be placed there.  I can understand the delay in producing the stone due to COVID creating high demand for stones and lack of personnel to produce the stones.  But Holt's communication on this matter has been poor at best.  There should have been a clear record that they have communicated with the cemetery management and gotten approval for placing the stone before they ever even accepted money from me for the stone.  I have no problem with paying them for their time to do so.  It should be covered in the cost of the stone.  I ran a go-fund-me to raise money to help cover the cost of the stone and may now be faced with refunding the money to those who contributed.  An awkward position to be put into.  To date this issue remains unresolved.
