Great community place! Love all the activities they put on throughout the year.
The only thing I wish it had was more things for kids to do at the pool. There is no play equipment except for 1 slide that most kids cant go on due to height.

Love coming to this rec center ! We love the changes that were made that now allow our children who are 11 and 12 to participate in the weight room with us after going through a really helpful safety course . Woodmen Hills did a great job of notifying us residents at the first of the year of the new safety guidelines for the weight room and have made the safety courses easily accessible for us . They are the only gym in this area that even allows children under 15 the chance to participate and we are grateful for that for our familys health and wellness needs.

I am profoundly disheartened and frustrated by the recent policy shift at Woodmen Hills Rec Center East, barring children under 15 from the weight room without attending a special class (whenever that might be, not available at any convenient time, and not published in any online sources).
While safety and supervision are paramount, this blanket restriction overlooks the diverse needs of families and individuals who frequent the facility. For many parents, exercising alongside their children not only fosters healthy habits but also strengthens family bonds. This privilege was abruptly revoked without prior notice, and its new policy rudely enforced despite numerous visits to the Rec Center.
Moreover, the lack of transparency and consideration for existing members in implementing this policy is concerning. Engaging with the community and exploring alternative solutions would have demonstrated respect for members' concerns while addressing safety issues.
As someone who has valued the amenities at Woodmen Hills Rec Center East, I'm now reconsidering my patronage due to this restrictive policy. I implore the management to revisit this decision and find a more balanced approach that accommodates the needs of all members. Until then, I'll redirect my support elsewhere, although I lament not having the opportunity to vote with my dollars.
This policy change undermines the inclusive environment that should define any community recreation center, and it's disheartening to witness.
