One visit so far and I can tell Theresa is the real deal. She knows what she is talking about. Her clinical style is to be effective instead of pretending to be your friend

DON'T GO!!!! I saw her for 7 years and didn't learn anything. Haven't seen her in more than that many years buy felt compelled to write a review after reading about other reviews. I suffer from anxiety and depression and am Bipolar 1. Theresa left me in the waiting room for over half hour at all times. She constantly took phone calls from her son and others during our sessions. She also ate her lunches and snacks in our sessions. I have a banana phobia and she would eat bananas during our sessions. I thought she was the only therapist available to me. I wasted 7 years of my life and time and walked away without feeling any better. I don't recommend Theresa. I found another therapist who is a true blessing in my life and has taught me so much in 2 years than Theresa did in 7 years.

I've known Theresa Ruscio for the past 20 years as both a supervisor and mentor. Theresa is one of the most knowledgeable, genuine, honest, and empathic therapists I have come to know. She is truly gifted in sensing what other people are thinking and feeling and in helping people to better understand themselves, their partners, and their children. Theresa brings years of experience, education, and commitment to the therapeutic process. She will challenge you and help you to achieve your goals.

We had one office visit with Theresa, which was paid in full, between my $10 copay and insurance. Theresa observed my son, age 8 years, for about 3 minutes in the waiting room and determined he had social anxiety and an unusual fear of strangers. She came to this conclusion after she introduced herself to him, while he was playing with her water bottle dispenser. He was simply afraid he might be in trouble for playing with the water bottle, when her introduction took him off gaurd. She took us into her office to discuss why we were there, and she charged me $75, which I paid immediately, for a printed survey she provided me, to have my son's teachers fill out and return to her at our next meeting. Feeling Theresa was not a good fit for our family, after our first meeting, I thought probably returning to her would not be in our best interest, but I did pay for the survey and at least wanted it reviewed. My mom was unexpectedly hospitalized for cancer and I had to fly to California and forgot to call and cancel the 2nd appointment. So, although I had paid $75 for a survey that was never reviewed by her, she charged me $145 for missing my 2nd appointment without calling and sent it to collections. My mother died from her cancer during that last minute trip to see her. I explained all the circumstances to Theresa's staff member who had contacted me while I was still in California, and still the "no call/no show" bill was sent to collection because I refused to pay. This is not a therapist I consider to be empathetic or well educated in regards to children's behavior.
