THE ULTIMATE QUESTION: DOES RADIOSHACK SELL RADIOS?
We stopped in here on our way to the gym. We are new members of Fitness 19 and on our first trip in, husband saw that you can listen to the TVs via FM radio. So he needed a portable radio with headphone jack. He checked Walgreens and found a small one for $20ish and decided to priceshop at the Shack before purchasing.
We walked in and one employee was helping a customer while another employee (who I believe was the manager) was standing behind the counter. We asked him if they sell radios. He pointed to his right at a long wall of electronics. Um, what? The guy is seriously only a handful of feet away; it would not have killed him to give us some assistance and walk over to help us look. We searched this wall but couldn't find anything so we then added we wanted a handheld, portable radio. He directed us to the mp3-players on the other side of the store. We looked at these but it was definitely more than we were looking to spend for the am/fm feature. In the end, we walked back over to the first wall he had pointed at and I spotted a portable radio. It is bigger than palm-size, has an antennae, and is not digital, but it was $15.00 and would do the job, so we bought it.
The two employees were both behind the counter as the transaction ended. The (manager) employee who rang us up thanked us as we left. I said thank you to them both as well and the other one didn't even acknowledge us leaving. I actually feel like most of the time when I walk in to a RadioShack the employees are extremely helpful and very friendly. This was my first time shopping at this location and I've definitely experienced better. But we did get what we needed for a fair price.
