Update: After 7 months, Culligan still has not fixed our clogged pipes. The water out of our master bathroom tub is still grayish. See the photo.
Culligan was charging $570 for moving service (whole-house filtration, RO and alkaline water) to a new house despite being an existing customer. The site surveyor said it would be a standard installation as the previous owner was already using whole-house filtration.
Two weeks later, two Culligan technicians came out to install and they said they would be "in and out" after checking out our soap dispenser at the kitchen sink (no drilling required) and the existing pipes. I could tell that they were very inexperienced as they couldn't even remove the soap dispenser and my handyman who happened to be there removed it for them. After RO and alkaline system were installed, it leaked everywhere under the sink as soon as they turned it on. Obviously, they had to work on it again. Despite being 9-month pregnant, I had to get down on the floor and clean up the remaining water leak.
After 3 hours (water shut off for 1 hour) they finished the work and left. Later that evening, I noticed that there was no running water in our sinks and brand new toilets weren't flushing and had constant water filling noise. Culligan office in Sylmar was already closed and the following day was Saturday.
We called Emergency line and was told that Culligan might be charging us for a technician to come out even though it was installation issue. No running water for 3 days and broken toilets was not an option for us.
Technician who came out saw the arrangement said the whole tank arrangement was wrong (inlet vs. outlet) and activated carbon (charcoal) was flowing into our house pipes and clogging everything. Charcoal stained our brand new toilets, clogged the valves, left charcoal debris everywhere (mirror, wall, floor, sinks, tubs, shower booth) and made faucet cartridges defective. Who knows what it did to our pipes, appliances and hot water tanks. What a way to start our life at a new house. Thanks Culligan. I trusted the name Culligan in terms of who they hire and how they train their technicians. If you are considering Culligan, don't assume that this will not happen to you. I'd be seeking legal services.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS WATER COOLER COMPANY! They charged my mother who is a senior citizen $35 a month and when she could not pay the water cooler we paid the remaining balance and when we tried to cancel they charged us $200 to cancel. They are legal thieves who pray on the innocent. Word of advice! DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THEM AND BEWARE. Please do your research. If they can reimburse us the $200 cancellation fee I will gladly take this review away.

My husband and I have just spent the past hour trying to loosen the salt that had formed into a solid block in the salt tank!! I'm sure this happened over several months. I have spoken with my sales person and told him that the monthly service I am paying for is useless. I think the delivery guys just lift the lid and see that there is salt there, not what state it is in, and go on their way. I have had other problems with my unit since the one year warranty expired (not working at all, softening too much or too little). It takes a few weeks to get a service call. I have again requested that someone come out and clean the salt tank and check over the system again. I hope it happens sooner than later. I also wish I had purchased a unit with wifi capability so I can monitor it better.
