Had a great experience at first until this pandemic.
Ira’s office made a ‘clerical error’ that prevented me from changing my insurance, accessing my payment information and I was completely locked out for 60 days.
Furthermore, when I did catch them on the phone, Ira Hart requested that I be unemployed for a TOTAL of 120 days before changing my insurance from ‘work use’ to pleasure which I found unreasonable.
I have been unemployed since March 10 and having to pay 120 days of maximized ‘work use’ insurance is unjust during this time.
I have also sent him multiple emails to try access my account online, change my payment type rather than having MAX premiums coming out of my checking account and I haven’t had any success so far.
3 emails later I have decided to include corporate office into them with no reply at the time of this posting.
I guess by stalling the insurance adjustment process by 4 months the insurance agent can collect maximized payments from my bank account.
I wouldn’t recommend. People’s behaviors change during times when money gets tight and I can only assume this might be the case here.
They seem great at first, but my opinion has changed greatly after our one phone call and lack of email replies after I requested he be on record in writing.
Maybe Allstate is great and this particular location is just bad, I don’t know. But there are just too many shady moves on their part for me to say they have my full confidence in my honest opinion.
‘Clerical error’ excuses, lack of responses, refusing to be on record, taking forever to make adjustments and the requirement of 120-days on unemployment in order to change my policies is just ridiculous.
This is my first time buying auto insurance and it’s a product I expect to maintain for the rest of my life.
They just lost a lifetime customer.
