We stopped here during our day trip to Lake Tahoe and Im really glad we did! It appears closed on google maps but you can still walk down and access the site. The walk down from the street is only 7 or so minutes, it took a little longer because of snow. For that reason Id recommend boots. The historic buildings are in excellent condition and very beautiful. You can also walk down to the lake shore and walk on the beach and take in the beautiful view. There are plenty of placards to read about the family that owned the estate. This is a good little trip for all ages!

Wow!! Even though we came and hiked here thou the grounds were unofficial closed, this place is True California Gold!! I marveled at the location and grounds. The cabins were Amazing to take in an ponder how beautiful this must have been in the early 1920's.
I recommend coming when the grounds are open and volunteers are present to give you a grander scope of this family's lifestyle and vision.
Don't miss out. Take a journey through lavish history. Cheers and GOD Bless!!
