Arriving to the hotel was easy enough and the exterior and lobby were both nice-looking and clean. The man that checked us in seemed a little off and we had to return to get our parking pass, but no big deal. We had the king bedroom w/ suite which I booked for our entire trip using points. The room was very outdated, had paint chipping, duct tape holding together some of the plastic along the floor, etc.
The bathroom had a couple signs requesting guests leave towels on the hanger if we will reuse them or put them on the floor if we want them washed. The first night, I left one of the two towels on the floor for this reason. The next day, we were out all day until about 8-9 p.m. and return to the room to see that housekeeping did not come and the towel was still on the floor. The next morning, I informed the front desk of this and I got the excuse that the hotel is understaffed and they are prioritizing rooms that are checking out. There are zero signs and zero warning before we checked in or after that housekeeping would not be coming to our room. We had to accept it and only got service on the days that we asked the front desk to have our room cleaned.
The hot breakfast was barely edible, which left us to spend money on breakfast almost every day of the trip. The one good thing, the waffle maker, was removed from the dining area after the first day and never returned.
When we went to check out on the morning of October 9th, the parking lot was completely full and cars were literally parked behind other cars perpendicular to the parking spots. Thankfully no one was parked directly behind us, but I've seen reviews on Google that say others have had to wait 15+ minutes for someone to move the other car so they can leave. The checkout process was smooth and the only thing on my receipt was parking for the full trip.
On October 10, I received another email receipt from Hampton Inn that charged me $233 for seemingly staying another night at a rate of $207/night. Although this was frustrating, I called and Tony looked into it and said that he would refund my card. As of this time, the charge is still showing as processed on my credit card bill.
Overall, very disappointed with the quality of this Hilton property. Our first time in California, an absolutely beautiful state, and yet this Hampton Inn doesn't reflect that.
