Doctor mills is amazing! So sweet! However, the receptionists are very rude! I had some issues with insurances, and the receptionist began ignoring my calls! I had to call from a different phone in order for her to answer. Just trying to get my claims figured and confused cleared up! My insurance provider (United Concordia) had to call on my behalf and she was very rude to him also. He was shocked ! I don’t recommend this dental office for this particular reason. It has not been a good experience.

The doctors and staff at Mission Hills Family Dental are great family dental professionals! I have been going to Mission Hills Family Dental for years and I enjoy the visits and great treatments they provide. There is no pressure to get additional services you feel that you may not need. They provide you with a detailed analysis of where your dental health stands and they collaborate with you to build a plan going forward based on your insurance coverage plan and financial situation. I truly feel comfortable working with the staff and Dr. Miller to make sure my dental health is in the best state possible. Mission Hills Family Dental is a true family dental practice where you feel at home.

I have thought about doing this review for a while because I certainly never want to hurt a business. I just feel like it’s necessary for me to leave this review because I really depend on reviews to help me make decisions which is how I ended up at Mission Hills Family Dental in the first place. The first issue I have with this office is that it takes forever to get an appointment. I totally understand if you’re trying to make an appointment for something like a cleaning, but if you tell them you’re in a lot of pain they don’t even try to prioritize getting you in. When I first called back in October of 2020 I told the receptionist that I had a tooth that was causing me a lot of pain and the soonest they could get me in was several weeks later. I went in January of this year to have a tooth prepped for a crown and the power went out in the middle of my procedure. I was totally understanding, but instead of them prioritizing finishing my appointment and getting me in the next day or even Saturday (a day that they are open) they were going to make me go through the weekend and wait until Monday to finish my appointment. I told them I was in pain and they ended up getting me in on Saturday after I insisted that they see me sooner . (I just have to say Dr. Doppenburg is way more gentle with giving numbing injections. Every time Dr. Miller gave me an injection it was painful, I went in a few weeks ago for a filling and she hit my nerve when she was numbing me and it was excruciating) I immediately had INTENSE pain after my tooth was prepped and they placed a temporary crown. I went in a few times complaining of the pain and they basically told me that because it was a temporary I would have pain. They cleaned out cement that was left near my gums and said I should feel better. When my appointment came to place my permanent crown I told them I was still in a lot of throbbing pain and they still placed the permanent crown. I had pain after the permanent crown and they adjusted my bite. It didn’t get better and after I was traumatized from my last few appointments with them I decided to see Dr. Campbell in Escondido who got me in the same day I called and sure enough I need a root canal. So I payed $400 for a crown with this office who insisted that I didn’t need a root canal and I’m going to get stuck paying for an additional crown after my root canal.

Feel so fortunate to have found this incredible dental office. I have had crowns done by both dentists. Both are talented and do excellent professional work. On top of that, they are both so kind and caring. Two gems. Their staff is also amazing providing the same quality service. Their latest x-ray equipment is another big plus. Check out the insurance plan they offer. They have it all!! Can't recommend more highly.

Extremely disorganized and lack of communication within the business. I went to doctor Miller for a while and had very positive experiences with her. However, it started to shift. You could tell organization was lacking, and making an appointment was difficult. It would often take weeks to get an urgent appointment just to be seen for a rather rushed appointment. A few times, I even made an appointment only to have someone call and modify it multiple times. I stopped feeling my time was valued or that I was valued as a patient. I decided to go somewhere else starting October. The experience was completely different, and I am much happier. Since I left Mission Hills there have still been the same issues, lack of communication within the business and lack of organization. I have recieved multiple appointment reminders from Mission Hills even though I was very quick and clear to let them know I was no longer a patient. Each time, I have had to call and have them cancel the appointment, especially when you just want to be done. In addition, we have recieved multiple bills months after the appointment, months after they realized that the insurance had sent us the payment as opposed to them. To get these random bills so long after they were aware there was an issue not only takes away from their credibility, but is also extremely frustrating. The lack of communication and organization within the business is apparent as no one who works there really knows why it takes so long for them to contact us. I do not recommend mission hills. They are pricey and you can get better service and care somewhere else.
