Below review is a 5 star review for me. Now that I know they're keeping the EBT using homeless crackheads out I'm actually going to visit the store. I just wish they could remove the drug addicts hanging around outside the store

I visited Hiep-Thanh Market recently and had a disappointing experience. The store's decision not to accept EBT cards is a significant drawback, especially in a community where many residents heavily rely on food stamps. This policy creates an unwelcoming and uncomfortable shopping atmosphere for those who depend on EBT for their groceries.
It's disheartening to see a business operating in a lower-class community not catering to the needs of the majority. While I understand concerns about crime, it's essential for businesses to find a balance between security measures and serving the community. The refusal to accept EBT seems like a discriminatory act against those who are disabled, families with children, the elderly, and the economically disadvantaged.
Every parent visiting the store, expecting to use their EBT card, will likely be shocked and disappointed to find out about this limitation. It's crucial for businesses to consider the broader impact of their decisions on the community they serve, particularly when a significant portion relies on assistance programs.
Additionally, the constant surveillance and scrutiny that shoppers experience create an uncomfortable and unwelcoming atmosphere. While I understand the importance of addressing security concerns, there is a fine line between ensuring safety and making customers feel singled out or judged.
In order to truly contribute positively to the community, businesses should prioritize inclusivity and recognize the diverse needs of their customers. I hope that Hiep-Thanh Market reevaluates its policies to better align with the values of fairness, compassion, and understanding that are crucial in serving a diverse and economically varied population.
