I think their address is 4305 Gesner St # 340, San Diego, CA 92117.
I looked at a steal of a deal 1 bedroom apartment for $800 a month in the middle of May in 2018 at the Charles Apartments. It was rented to another applicant who completed their application just a few minutes after I arrived. But the agent (Jeff Green) said I could apply for a similar unit coming up soon. I paid for a credit check, passed the credit check, and waited a month for the tenant to move out. I was told it would be ready the middle of June 2018. Then I was told it would be one more week. A week later he tacked on another week. Then after a week, he added another week and a half to the future date. Eventually I gave him two weeks (a little more than his projected finish date) and requested he draw up a contract with the move in date listed. He could not agree, so I requested he refund the credit check. Our last phone call was unpleasant mainly due to my frustration for waiting over two months, start to finish, and not getting an apartment. Throughout the entire process he guaranteed me that I would have an apartment if I just keep waiting. Instead, I got strung along for over a month. He never wanted to draw up a contract because he never could guarantee a move in date.
In his defense, he paid back the credit check. But there's no way to compensate for my wasted time and inconvenience of course.
Something wasn't exactly right in this process. I don't know why it takes weeks to a month to ready an apartment. Simple carpet replacement, termite spraying, and painting SHOULD NOT TAKE A MONTH. I felt like I should have been told upfront that they overpromised, for whatever reason, and given me the facts to find a better option. I even turned down a decent apartment elsewhere, THAT I WAS APPROVED FOR, because I kept getting reassured I would get to eventually get to move in. That is the biggest sting of all. Possibly losing a $35 credit check is no big deal. Losing out on a competitor's apartment that I could have had due to lack of facts, and possibly honesty, is hard to stomach. I sorely regret not choosing their competition and having a decent place to live.
This process was a huge let down and will force me to choose really bad options because I have little time left to hunt for a good apartment on a budget. It's not easy finding places that are in the 700's/800's that aren't a complete dump or basically a closet.
On a side note, their receptionist Kim is the only person I found helpful and easy to deal with. I tried to be as polite with her as possible because it's not really her fault.
I don't enjoy doing negative reviews and don't give out 1 stars often. But I cannot state how much of a bind I am thanks to Professional Real Estate Management. Exercise caution, skepticism, and protect yourself if you find yourself looking to rent from these folks. I really should not have trusted Jeff Green with Professional Real Estate Management.
