Aspiring Families and Dr. Maker put great time, thought, and care into matching clients with the right team member and their services. Our family is extremely satisfied by the professionalism and approach used by this clinic. We really appreciate their combination of empathy, knowledge, ethics, and practicality. In our contact with Dr. Maker and her team therapist, we feel they listen carefully, while being kind, thoughtful, and effective. Aspiring Families has outstanding therapists, and our therapist has effectively provided us with family services with excellent interventions and insight that tremendously helped us. We highly recommend Dr. Maker and her team at Aspiring Families, Center for Mental Health and Wellness.

First off, it is not my intention to disparage any business in our community, however, I don't think I could live with myself if I didn't alert other families looking for professional guidance. This Therapist and her counterpart would definitely not be my first choice, particularly where innocent young children are involved. She got our situation entirely wrong, and did not take time to understand that there was much more to this dynamic.
If she had spoken with others, she would have learned A LOT more than she based her recommendation on.
There was much more to the story and the therapist did not take the time to pursue the entire set of circumstances. There was blame shifting going on, due to a narcissist member of the family in the mix.
It's very obvious that she is not trained in other mental health issues and situations and without a doubt, dished out the wrong advice.
We were vastly disappointed with the outcome as she definitely made a fairly serious miscalculation
In her assessment of our situation.
Rather than drag it out and hold her and her assistant - - - who talks with the parties, and
gathers all the information for her ---accountable, we have moved on, and couldn't be happier with our new Therapist!
Upon sharing our dismaying story with our new therapist, they were shocked, to say the least, as to how our situation was handled with unnecessary stress and confusion being put upon a young child.
Unfortunate to see something like this happen to a loving and vulnerable family who needed some guidance. She & her Inquirer who interviews and then gathers the information for her, also caused much damage to our family unit, not knowing the entire situation. Absolutely devastating and unforgivable.

I am very grateful for Aspiring Families and, especially, their Director, Dr. Maker. My son needed educational testing to ensure he received the accommodations he needed at school. From the moment of my first call with Dr. Maker, we felt heard and cared for. She was compassionate, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable. When my son went through the testing, he reported that it was comfortable and even fun, and that he loved the person who did the tests with him. He truly enjoyed the process, which we certainly did not expect! When we received the report, Dr. Maker reviewed the results with us, made suggestions for how to advocate for our son, and gave us resources to help us figure out what he would need in the future. We were able to use all of these tools to advocate for him to receive the right kind of education. With help from Aspiring Families, we were able to get our son on the right educational track. Next year, he will be attending the college of his dreams, and that is in large part because of Dr. Maker and her staff! Thank you, Aspiring Families!

As a clinical psychologist myself, I cannot say enough good things about the Aspiring Families practice. Dr. Maker herself is a warm, engaging therapist with many years of experience, and she has hired a terrific team of professionals to serve families and individuals who are experiencing a range of emotional issues, from parenting challenges to trauma work. She is clearly extremely invested in all of the families who seek help at her clinic, and she goes the extra mile, making sure that individuals are well-matched with practitioners and that each client has a customized treatment plan. I would refer anyone to this practice without reservation!

I remain profoundly grateful to Dr Maker for the countless occasions that she has shared her professional wisdom with me. I have benefited, both as a child lawyer and as a parent, from her impressive expertise in trauma, child development and loss. She is warm, engaging and supportive of those with whom she works and demonstrates the utmost of respect for her clients and colleagues. I would not hesitate to recommend someone to her for treatment and continue to seek her counsel when I find myself in need of psychological input.
