It was quite pricey at $350 per night but the beds are extremely comfortable, there is a bar on site plus room service that will bring you anything from the bar and the pool / activities area is beautiful especially at night. The pool is heated

Waited 2 hrs for room, granted it wasn't 4 pm yet, but had made the reservation 2 mo ago. The entire time we waited, other people checked in. At 4pm we finally got the room. It's in a back building, not shown in the ad, no elevator, 2nd floor. It looks like it's 100 years old, has a transient vibe, small room, ancient furniture, and the bathroom smells like urine. It's full up, so there is no chance to change rooms as several cruises load tomorrow, so all hotels are also full. For the $200 cost, we get what appears to be clean sheets and a comfortable mattress. Nothing else is good. Since we paid, we're staying, but I'd suggest sleeping under a bridge.
Rooms: Small
Noteworthy details: Bathroom smells like urine and is dirty.

We loved this hotel so much that we decided to stay a few extra days. Huge thank you to Luce, the absolutely incredible woman at the front desk, who worked some magic for us and helped us stay in the room we loved so much. She was understanding and helpful, and went above and beyond to make this a wonderful experience for us. I'm giving the hotel 5 stars, but if I could, I'd give Luce 10. Thank you.
For background, I came into San Diego on a Monday for a conference at USD. Later in the week, my husband arrived for a short vacation. We had intended to stay only two nights before visiting a different city, but loved the hotel and location so much, we decided to stay.
Great Location: Close to everything. The airport is 5 minutes away, but somehow we weren't ever in the flight path (no noise). San Diego Zoo/Balboa Park, Fashion Valley, and Coronado are about 15 minutes away by car. Downtown, Old Town, Coronado are even closer. There is a great grocery store and Starbucks within a couple of blocks. And best of all, it's close to a beautiful walk along the harbour. I was here myself for the first few days, and felt totally comfortable walking after dark (very safe neighbourhood).
Bed: We stayed in a King room, and the bed was amazing! Very comfortable, with lovely soft sheets and two densities of pillows. It even had a soft headboard. Loved it!
Shower: Decent water pressure, with an adjustable head.
Room Overall: Felt big and bright with a modern beachy feel.
Parking: Convenient, and lots of it.
In summary, we'd absolutely stay here again. You should too.

The guy checking me in was fairly new so it took a moment to get checked in. Thats understandable, I wanted a king instead of the 2 beds I was given. I was given a king with a balcony. I was super happy til I realized I needed a map too get to my room, which was in the back. Plus its $50 a day for incidentals, a detail I didnt know. When I asked to be switched to the main building front desk girl with the blond hair said I was fortunate to get the room I have since Im an employee of IHG. I just walked off and went to my room, which smells musty, very small and dark. I was shocked shocked to see no cameras in the hallways for safety reasons, front desk with the blond hair said its very safe here. I will visit San Diego again, but Ill never stay at this property again.
