On July 6, 2020 I chose this company to do repairs and still , to this day I regret doing so. I'd never heard of them nor had I done business with them before. So I gave them a shot. The owner requested additional money from the insurance, and a second adjuster approved additional repairs.
The owner Joe is very unprofessional, and has a poor work ethic. As soon as I arrived I asked Joe if the registered owner is required to sign any estimate paperwork, to which he replied “no , no, no don’t worry about that we will take care of you†. I was persistent with the owner and asked him why won’t he provide me with some estimate sheet. All he did was deflect my questions.
The owner is very unorganized, and I felt as if I had to micromanage him and his staff because the work was constantly wrong.
On July 24, 2020 me and the registered owner and I arrived at the shop and was never provided with the invoices for all repairs approved . We requested them and all we were given was a yellow estimate sheet and was just told to sign it.
We left , and all seemed well, until on August 8, 2020 went to the local car wash and noticed the front bumper was dangling , there was condensation in the front right headlamp housing, and water seal on the front passenger door was leaking water. Additionally, the car was swaying while driving high speeds , and pulling to the left. Concerned we reached out to Joe and was advised to come in . The following day I stopped by the shop, and was advised by Joe that they would simply use a glue( crazy, or gorilla glue I’m not sure ) to hold up the frame because of some damage.
At this time is when I thought to myself “let me check the adjusters estimate sheet to see what exactly was approved , and paid to Hollywood Collision.
To my surprise I realized that they had not repaired what they had claimed. Not only was the front bumper the same one, the two doors that were approved were only compounded and sanded. The front alloy wheel was never finished, and the back bumper was never clear coated. I brought this to Joes attention and he was furious that I was making these accusations. His tone quickly changed when I advised him I had photos of the car before the repairs, and that I would be speaking to the insurance company regarding this. As soon as I left the body shop he began calling repeatedly, assuming he was worried that I caught on to his little scam.
Not Only did he lie to me regarding the repairs, but he advised my insurance company that they needed additional money for labor and order parts. This is fraud , and I am outraged.
I gave joe a final chance to correct what he had done wrong. On August 12-14 the car was in the shop and. Again, there was issues. The Only issues this time were that the doors were never ordered and replaced, and the car was still pulling to the left with additional away.
I requested for the invoices , and the owner claimed he had sent them to his book
Keeper and does not have access to them.
Concerned for safety the owner has requested for an inspection from the California Bureau of Automotive Repair. Services: Painting, Body & Trim
