Was a little nervous after hearing Dr. Rakov had sold the business, but was pleasantly surprised after being treated by the new owner, Dr. Spurling. She was AMAZING! Extremely thorough and knowledgeable and made my vision therapy easier than ever. Her staff was also great!

Dr. Rakov and her incredible staff have created an incredible service, a dedication to excellence, and a home for the heart. As an occupational therapist, I have been referring people to the Vision Development Center for years. I get nothing but incredibly enthusiastic reviews back from those I have referred. Orange County is incredibly lucky to have Dr. Rakov in their midst.

Dr. Rakov is amazing in working with each person where they are. She takes the time to find out what your vision goals are and works with you.

Review from 2023 ZERO STARS
Dr Rakov sold her practice so she is no longer affiliated with Vision Development Center. They don't have any pediatric optometrist available (check their website), the whole staff is new and seems they're changing constantly. What kind of clinic says, "sorry we're not seeing anyone at this moment and we can't book anything in the upcoming months because we don't have a doctor".
So so so sad.
If they don't have a doctor, how are they providing vision therapy?? Under what supervision?! I don't trust they're actually caring about the patients anymore.
I contacted Dr Rakov directly and she was so sad and so apologetic for the change her old practice has taken (which she shouldn't have to apologize it's the new owners who should!), Anyway, since we needed to see someone ASAP, she highly recommended Dr Vincent Cano, so we now go there.

Dr Rakov is the best Pediatric optometrist ever! And she makes sure you and your kid are at ease and taken care of!!
Dr Rakov was recommended to me by THREE different places... The first one my Pediatrician, the second our Ocupacional Therapist and the third my own OD who actually took his kids to dr Rakov! These three people don't know each other, that's how awesome and highly recommended she is!!!
Her staff, especially Flor go above and beyond - just like dr Rakov- to make sure you understand your insurance benefits and out of pocket expenses, absolutely LOVE THEM!!!
