My husband (fiancé at the time) and I were very excited to work with Yair for our wedding in June of 2020. We enjoyed our introductory phone call getting to know him and learning about his photography style. However, once the pandemic hit, we had to postpone our California wedding. Yair happily agreed to photograph us on our new date. About a month away from the date, we were informed by the venue that due to state restrictions, the wedding could no longer take place.
I started planning ANOTHER wedding and this one would be held in Indianapolis, my hometown. Indiana’s venues had less restrictions than those in California. Despite offering to pay for the thousand dollar flights for both Yair and his assistant to be there, they decided it was not in their best interest to travel. We completely understood their hesitation and knew that we would need to find someone local.
After confirming that Yair was not coming, we started having problems.
***He wanted to keep all of the money that we had already paid him. Almost $3000.***
***My husband and I know that Covid impacted businesses everywhere, but that doesn’t mean Yair should keep our hard-earned money for NO SERVICES PROVIDED.***
***We had a handful of phone calls and e-mail communication throughout the wedding planning process. There is no reason that he should have kept our money. It was not the right thing to do.***
***He had a VERY heated phone call with my husband and mentioned how he was in the army almost as a threat. EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. He mentioned how he couldn’t wait “to just be done with us.” ***
***He sent us 1 of the 3 payments we had made back to us, but we have yet to see the other 2 totaling to almost $2000.***
TO MY BRIDES:
If you are planning a wedding and the pandemic is still present, PLEASE reconsider choosing Yair Haim Photography.

I cannot in good conscious recommend using Yair Haim photography. While his photography skills may be high quality, his true character showed through during the COVID pandemic. He kept money he had not rightfully earned and ATTEMPTED TO INTIMIDATE ME from recovering this money by informing me he is FORMER SPECIAL OPS. He lost his temper in a discussion about a repayment plan and yelled at me for minutes on end while I calmly asked him to try and understand our position.
Our wedding was postponed and then canceled due to govt restrictions, yet Yair refused to fully refund us our rightful payments. He kept the security deposit AND over $1000 for services he did not perform for a wedding we did not cancel (the govt prohibited the venue from hosting). We understand his keeping the security deposit per the terms of the contract, although many other partners had more of a heart and either fully or partially refunded the security deposit. However, not reimbursing the additional payment is inexcusable. Nearly as inexcusable as his attempts to intimidate paying clients.
Do yourself a favor and find another photographer who has the quality of character to match their photography skills.

We had the absolute best experience using Yair as our wedding photogorapher. He made the day SO fun and he was so quick, making sure we got every shot we wanted and a zillion more we didnt know we wanted. The photos just came in and they are UNREAL we can't believe it. We are so so happy with every single photo! Yair was amazing to work with the whole way through. Thank you so so much Yair and team!

Yair is so much more than just a talented photographer! I started planning my west coast wedding from the east coast which wasn't easy. I spoke to Yair on the phone and he was extremely generous with his time. He confidently explained so much to me about the wedding industry; I learned so much from him in just that first phone call (and ended up taking many recommendations from him for my other vendors). We set up an in person meeting and he quickly became the very first vendor I selected during my planning process! He was there throughout the planning process (very quick to respond)... when I was in a really tough spot choosing a planner, he recommended a planner to me that I ended up loving and choosing! He's assertive yet kind and keeps the mood positive throughout the day/night. His knowledge and strong sense of direction will allow you to relax on your special day, you will get good shots, you're in the best of hands! Thank you Yair, our pictures are tasteful, timeless and beautiful... so many to choose from!

I don't think there are enough words to truly capture how amazing it was to work with Yair. From the moment I met him, his passion for wedding photography was evident. During our engagement shoot and at our wedding, Yair was enthusiastic, smiling the entire time, laughing, and zipping all over the place getting shots that inspired him and captured special moments of the day. During our engagement shoot, my husband was sick with food poisoning (and also has little patience for photos in the first place!). Yair somehow worked his magic - he made us feel immediately comfortable, kept the shoot lighthearted and fun, and even charmed (possibly even tricked) my husband into having a good time! He was especially efficient given the circumstances and produced gorgeous photos. After having such a great experience with him during the engagement shoot, we knew our wedding day would be even more wonderful. Yair had the bridesmaids and groomsmen laughing and having fun, and also made our families very happy with the intimate photos he took. Yair had a great balance of being guided by his expertise and instinct, while also being open to suggestions if we had an idea or felt inspired in the moment. As a result, our photos came out more beautiful than we could have imagined! Please take note, I am super unphotogenic, so this is saying a lot! Yair paid attention to so many details of the day that I didn't even get to see and captured such special moments that made me feel like I was reliving my wedding day all over when looking at the pictures. He is the utmost professional, is diligent in his work, and his passion for wedding photography is contagious. He is the perfect balance of professional, fun, and adaptable to capture the essence of your relationship and wedding day. He is worth every penny and then some (and probably should be charging more for his amazing work)! I am so grateful that we had the opportunity to work with Yair - he'll have a special place in our lives always!
