It was truly horrible experience with Palomar Emergency Room and their staff.
I too my almost 80 years old Grandmother there because she had troubles breathing and pain on her side. The front desk person was nice, we got inside pretty fast. They took blood, did EKG, x ray and sent us back to lobby. Here where it gets scary. We got there 11:30 AM and left the building 6:10 PM WITHOUT being treated. My grandmother was in pain and having shortness of breath – nobody cared. They checked her vitals once. After 4.3 hours they took us inside again, put in an open room, crowded, nurses, doctors, assistance all walking around. Dr. Shauna Conry was the one talking to us. No people feelings at all. She opened x ray and saw that fluid in one of the lungs built up pretty bad, I am not a doctor but I saw it! I asked to send my grandmother to get the fluid out and doctor said this is not an emergency and team will not come and do it! She also said it is after hours. We were there since 11:30 AM! After hours? Really? Doctor said my grandmother’s oxygen was at normal levels, if it drops to 90 than come back to ER she said. I could not believe it. Also what was weird is that after opening x ray imaging she called Radiology Dept and left the room to talk to them, she did it twice, so I have no idea what were they talking about. Very sneaky. They checked grandmother’s blood pressure before discharging and it was 190 over 95. 190!! Monitor was beeping and NOBODY cared. She never was given any pain medication or blood pressure medication while there. When they were discharging us – NO doctor talked to us. RN came to us, I don’t remember her name, and she was nice enough. She gave us discharge papers and copies of tests. Just horrible, I do not recommend going there, take your love ones somewhere better place.

I was in the emergency took me in the back and we sat there for awhile doctor came did his job sat there for hours did ivy’s Medacine asked several times for pillows none given until different nurse came. Left tapes and trash on patients bed. I had to keep cleaning after they leave. And was told by the security can’t go to room cause I’m not vaccinated but can wait in lobby. Security shifts changed and I was kicked out like a dog cause I was not vaccinated after I was told I could wait in the lobby by previous security and been waiting for about 3 hours in lobby worse than tri city

3/12/21 Was taken to this Emergency Room for post operative pains and troubles just to be treated or I should say ignored and mistreated and in the end misdiagnosed. Over 8 hours all together freezing, being ignored and left in wheel chair for 6 hours straight. Not one family member was allowed to accompany me due to covid so imagine having hysterectomy 6 days prior and not eating for a week and not being able to keep food down, imagine how one would be so weak and being stuck in wheel chair for 6 hours and not being able to roll yourself to the bathroom or lift yourself up. I couldn't stop not one stuff member to ask what is happening, what will happen, why can I not get a blanket or water or why is no one helping me to the bathroom or anything! I had no idea they had me wait on ct scan, no communication whatsoever! Placing patients wheelchairs next to each other during covid with absolutely no distancing and many's mask was under their nose. This is before the vaccines. Finally 6 hours later ct scan was done and another hour later I was placed in the bed and left alone. I don't want to write details what I went through in that room by myself with closed doors but I can say that my heart monitor was beeping for over 20 min before a nurse showed up. If I died they could have wrote anything in the notes lying and justifiying what really happened. In the end I was told I had possible UTI, was prescribed antibiotic and let go just to end up being emergency admitted in another hospital for post op internal infection. So they couldn't even get the diagnosis right. I called million different departments to address my visit and no one cares. Their medical board reviewed my complaint and justified their actions which of course they would lol protected and backing up theirs. I forbid my parents who live 5 min away to ever in the most emergency case go to this ER. Someone else wrote that they rather die in the comfort of their home than to come back to this ER and I completely believe them. Avoid this ER and don't pay your bills maybe that will make someone make some changes.
7/7/2021 PLEASE DO TAKE THE TIME TO REPORT YOUR HORRIBLE, SCARY, INHUMANE AND UNETHICAL EXPERIENCE TO THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH. WRITE TO LOCAL TV NEWS. DO NOT PAY YOUR BILL. THIS PLACE NEEDS TO SHUT DOWN, REEVALUATION AND NEW MANAGEMENT IS NEEDED!!!!!!!

I didn’t want to give this place one star, I would have preferred to give them zero. I came here for my first pregnancy. If I knew how my experience was going to be I would have given birth in my bathtub. All of the nurses are rude, two in particular named Gigi and Rose. They were the worst. The nurses don’t care they just leave you and roll their eyes whenever you ask for help. The only nice nurses were the nurses in the NICU unit and the first nurse that I met when I was admitted into the hospital. Her name was Ursula, she actually did her job and was an absolute sweetheart. The other nurses were pathetic and insensitive. They should find different jobs if they don’t like helping people. Seriously, it’s like they are trained to have no empathy. It’s just a hospital full of nurse Ratcheds.
