I'm sharing my experience to caution others who might be considering a timeshare with Hyatt Vacation Club. While the allure of vacationing in luxurious properties worldwide can be tempting, the reality of owning a timeshare can be far from the idyllic picture painted during the sales presentation.
First and foremost, the financial commitment is substantial and long-term. Despite what might be promised by enthusiastic sales representatives, the costs associated with timeshare ownership extend far beyond the initial purchase price. Maintenance fees, which are subject to increase, can become a significant financial burden over time. Additionally, the flexibility to use your timeshare when and how you want is often overstated, with availability during peak periods being particularly challenging to secure.
Furthermore, the resale market for timeshares is highly saturated, making it difficult to sell your timeshare should your circumstances change or you simply decide that timeshare ownership is not for you. This reality starkly contrasts the impression of easy sellability and value retention often suggested during the sales process.

And we live right down the road just a place to go and get away that's local.
