I need medical care, but after reading the reviews, and being in health care for years, thus I think I am able to read between the lines of informed-Reviewers vs uninformed-Reviewers. I will be avoiding Palomar Medical Center Escondido like the plague.
Thank you for the reviews. My search continues elsewhere. But hey, as long as the board members are cashing in, perhaps that is all that matters?
Hint, pay staff better, treat them better, lessen their pt load equals they treat pts better. But hey what do I know after 37 yrs in the field?

03/28/24 Well it looks as though we had no choice but to bring mom back when she had a serious fall injury. Like I said before great drs and nurses, but for admin to release a 85 year old woman after less the 48 hrs after major surgery is criminal and cruel. Think twice before coming here. Go to Scripps or Sharp if you have the choice. Seriously flawed here and just running it for the bottom line of making a profit to pay for the huge new hospital.

Mom came here for emergency. Good emergency surgeon and some of the staff were super nice, but there were some were very snarky. Being that it was a mom emergency, I could have used a bit more empathy. Heavy security staff at entrances. Give me Scripps Green any other time.

Today I had no choice but to visit this hospital when my wife was in a car accident on the Freeway nearby. Before the Kaiser hospitals popped up, we were here a couple of other times and this hospital is consistently one of the worst hospital experiences we've encountered. It's more like a county hospital. The ER is always overflowing causing one to receive all of your care in the hall way. For as new as this hospital is, it lacks upkeep. If you have the option to go somewhere else, I highly recommend going there instead.

Very unpleasant and it is not enough. I have a relative hospitalized on floor #6. He was admitted almost a month ago. He was moved there after being in a critical condition. He has a diagnosis of brain damage. I was visiting on 4-4-2024 and unfortunately I had a horrible experience when I arrived I saw 4 nurses outside the door where my patient is in the hallway talking when I entered the room I waited about 2 minutes or so and left the room I asked who the nurse in charge of my relative was a woman approached One of them told me that what I need started asking about my patient's health and she said that she was not the nurse in charge and asked another one who is leaning against the wall drinking coffee, she answered my question in a sharp tone and continued drinking her coffee I was in the room with my relative for about 40 minutes and until then everything was fine until it was time to move it to repossess it the nurse brought 2 more sick people to help her when they saw that it was made of the bathroom they needed to clean it and that was where it all started and the things got out of control they were very rude when they turned him over the cables connected to his body got tangled the hose that keeps him breathing was very bad they couldn't accommodate the cables why they had already moved my family member he couldn't speak he has damage to the brain and he is connected to a tube for his breathing but when they turned him over they turned him practically like a sausage on the spit moving him his face of pain said it all I held on as long as I could but one of them leaned her body on him to hold it when I let them know that my family member was feeling pain and one of them spoke Spanish began to try to excuse that the way they did it is the best way they could do it they told me that I had to understand that my family member is very big and very heavy and they can't give him pain medicine every time he feels pain. I understand it and I didn't want them to give him pain medicine. I wanted them to look at my family member's suffering face and also for them to Note that and let the doctor know why they need to be informed of every progress that my family member has since they consider that my patient does not respond to any stimulus and the pain on his face was when they moved him in that rough and An argument began that went nowhere. The argument changed tone. One of them told me that if you want, I could call my supervisor so I could talk to her. I said yes, but it turned out much worse. The supervisor. She came into the room and I came in with a very rude attitude saying that she was not going to tolerate me talking rudely to her I didn't say a single word to her and she told me that so I responded you know I don't want to talk to you either and then she said you know call security and tell her Take out the emperera who spoke Spanish, she told the other 2 that I was accusing them of mistreating my patient, the entire conversation was being distorted by her and they called security to take me out of the hospital. Now it turns out that for wanting to file a complaint they order you to be taken out of the hospital. hospital for sure, no, well what a good service it is not the first time that I have had unpleasant experiences, I have never complained but yesterday it touched my family and that hurt me a lot this time that is why it takes #1 on my list.

Week ago I delivered baby in this hospital and I want to say thank you to Argentina. She was the most caring, gentle and respectful. She went through everything with me and she was amazing.
