All the animals in that place were from farms that do not take the time to even feed their animals. Most lambs were shoved/tossed/kicked into the ring from broken limbs or severe malnourishment. We bought a little ewe that appeared healthy but the lighting is dim in there. Big mistake on our part. Got her home and realized she looked fed because of her severe infestation of barber pole worms which had caused a potbelly. Dewormed her same day. Next day pot belly was gone and she’s a skeleton with wool and severe anemia. We’re forcing fluids and iron into her system because she’s down and won’t stand anylonger. In my opinion there are other livestock barns around here that would never even chance selling animals like that because their reputation matters and because morally it’s horrible of these livestock owners to neglect their animals this badly. Who knows, half the broken limbed goats and sheep up there were probably fine until they made it to that auction yard.
