Loved this place and miss it so much. Great customer service, great prices, fun atmosphere, and I live that it's locally owned and operated. Wish you'd come back!

Where do I start? I was religious with my facials once upon a time, and I have been neglecting my skin for about over a year now. I hopped on to good ol’ Groupon for a deal. Honestly when it comes to hair or skin I prefer local businesses versus the big chains. I feel like it’s more genuine and there is more effort in customer service and boy was I right! When I started my religious facials once upon a time, it was because my face started breaking out severely. I went to a dermatologist and to a local shop for my facials. Every month they would recommend some new face wash, toner, serum or tips that may be causing my acne but never did it go away. I did microdermabrasion, chemical peels you name it and I had it done. I was desperate. I got pregnant and after my pregnancy everything kind of calmed down with just break outs (to me minimal, to many still a bit extreme) about 2-3 times a week. Well, when I walked in with April, she greeted me with so much warmth! She asked me about my skin and asked what it is I was hoping to achieve. Mind you we had spoken over the phone a few days before and she was already speaking game plan then about what I might need. She recommended natural & basic skin concoctions I can make at home. She didn’t push any products down my face that cost me an arm and a leg. When looking at my face she let me know exactly what the problem was and how to help it. I did exactly what she said and wala! It’s crazy to think in one week I could see a difference. She gave me a relaxing yet oh so effective facial. By the way, never had I had a foot massage to go along with it! To finish of she promised that my big ol’ pimple on my forehead would be gone by tomorrow by using this little zapper. I honestly thought it was very optimistic of her, but I knew it wasn’t gonna happen. I know my skin and it’s stubborn break outs, they camp out for a week at the least. Call me crazy, I don’t know if it’s witch craft or what but it was gone! This just simply reminds me why I love local businesses, April showed attention, was informative and cared. Any big chain is there for the check and sales on products. Definitely staying at the wonder spa!

They are now Uptown Detox and Aesthtic, still same owner just different name and website. I have been to many body and facial massages. The owner, April texted me at 10pm the day before my appoinment to tell me my appoinment was canceled and I had to reschedule as I was triple schedule. I was upset but understand as they in process of moving to the new website. My first impression is this place has a really nice lemongrass scent. They also leave bananas and detox drink out in front. The owner was nice show me the progress and she also good to talk, altho I think she is quite business casual. I used Groupon and there is no detail on Groupon mentioned this is NOT completely 90-min detoxifying massage, they did mention on their website tho. I first was told to stand on a vibrate machine for 20mins which was claimed to help loosing weight. I only believe in good amount of exercise and healthy diet. Then I sat in an infrared tent for 30mins which soon warm me up. Then I moved to another room for massage and April put clay on my belly and wrap tight with plastic wrap. Her massage was good tho. What I dont like is that it was just about 20mins massage and it was so quick that I didnt even get to relax my body so much. Another thing I dislike is the room is not completely a room, no door just a curtain and walls not all the way up to roof so you can hear as much sounds outside. Usually the spa I went to they have quite closed room and music. I came 10mins late so April did make up my 10mins for me which is nice. But my experience in general was not good and so believable, so I wont come back.
