image Just don't bother calling as they NEVER answer calls from patients. I tried for 3 days in a row and nobody bothered to answer the phone. I'm disabled so walking into the pharmacy is an issue.

image Unfortunately I believe a lot of companies, including Safeway Pharmacy, are using Covid as an excuse for poor behavior and services. For example, I've been going to this particular Safeway for over 15 yrs straight, as I live in Coronado Historic District. And, the pharmacy used to pick up their phone on a few rings. Now, each time I call I get nothing. It doesnt matter if I call 5 times over a period of 2 hrs, they will not pick up. Today I decided to finally do something about it and called the corporate office. While on a very long hold I decided to drop into Safeway to see if my script was ready & ask why no answer...as I walked in I ran into Chris, Safeways store manager. I explained the difficulties I was having & he apologized (very nice & professional man) & walked over with me to the pharmacy. I expected there to be a line around the corner, as I'd just last tried calling them from the parking lot prior to going in...for the 6th time. Ok, not in a row...over 2 hrs. But, no, there was no one waiting, at all. My guess is they are using covid as an excuse not to answer the phone. The worst part? When Chris, the manager, spoke to them in front of me about it not only did they use diversion tactics, completely dismissing any excuse or responsibility for it, but no apologies...Did I mention the manager was standing right there? I was honestly embarrassed for him. I wouldn't even be writing this negative review if they owned up to it and said they would actually do something about it in the future. And, if this wasn't a regular occurrence each & every time I called for the past 2 yrs. Yes, we are still in covid, but they are simply diverting covid related calls
...and where does that leave the rest of us that actually have questions needing answered about prescriptions? Nowhere. I knew I would get in there only to find not only did they not fill the script yet (20 min of now waiting for them to do so) but "supposedly" didn't even receive the call in order from my dentist, who assured me they called it in this morning. Such joy going in with a toothache and waiting when if they'd only picked up the call I could have waited at home, till it was filled. And, speaking of waiting...in line there was another customer that overheard and spoke up to say she experienced the same exact issues. Hmmm, wondering how many others are as well but no one has the energy or time to speak up about it.

image Ive been patient long enough with this pharmacy. Every time I go to pickup meds they are NEVER ready. When I call it in, they ask when do you want to pick it up I answer more than 24/hrs later and I still wait another day (as Ive learned) Then Pharmacist suggested I go to another pharmacy so thats what Ill do. I know they are busy and doing a lot. Thats why I give it an extra day. Lines are always long. (as Im sure they cant get enough hep) staff is grumpy. Too much competition out there it frustrate myself.

image I was amazed at their staff because they were able to read the doctor's prescription. They were very prompt in assisting all their customers. The place had a nice vibe and very tidy.
