African Hair Braiding Stylists

I’m giving three stars because they were able to accommodated my emergent appointment. I called and got to the shop and in the chair within an hour. These women were nice enough but I’m sorry I cannot return to this shop. I sport my natural hair in a mohawk, So not having a full head of hair considerably cuts down the time and work put in on braiding. I paid $150 for 22 large waist length box braids. Day two the braids were slipping, day 3 three braids came out completely. Day five I was able to return to the shop and have them reinstall the fallen braids, with that they noticed more loose braids and the rebraided those too. I did not have the hair with me so they couldn’t redo as many as she wanted to do, she offered to sell me a bag I declined the offer, thinking I just spent $150 and these braids aren’t even holding. Yet she wanted to charge me more $$. By day 8 you can see my own hair unraveling from the braids. I put my hair up and put it in a sleep cap at night so it is no fault of mine. I always wear my hair in braids, so I know this is abnormal. My braids are only two weeks old as of today and it looks like I had them in for six weeks already. Like I said these ladies were nice enough but I think the price was too high for my head and the quality of work was not so good. I was not happy and I will not be returning. *I came back to this to edit my review to 1 star, if you work hard for your money and value your time, do not waste any of it by going here! 19 days later and 8 of my 22 box braids have fallen out, my hair is still unraveling from other braids. I have no choice but to take out the rest. I expected to wear the style for six weeks now after only two weeks and $150 I have to take them out.😡 I can not express my anger and dissatisfaction enough!

The worst braiding salon experience I've ever had. The owner or who ever she was, was so rude! I brought two packs of braiding hair which she said wasn't enough. Charged me an extra $10 for a third pack which I ended up not needing, but because the girl who did my hair accidentally used the hair they brought out still charged me the extra $10. Had a unprofessional younger women do my hair and the owner would yell at her all the time. My braids did not turn out that beautiful. All I got were plan cornrows to the back. I would not recommend this place. Take your business else where.

Really nice and efficient. Small place but nice atmosphere. Only reason not five stars are because the prices are a bit high.
