Avoid this physician! This wealthy doctor engages in the unethical and unscrupulous practice of BALANCE BILLING. Be aware if you go to a hospital and he ends up being your anesthesiologist. Even if you are at an in network hospital and do not contract with this doctor directly, you will receive a bill for whatever this physician feels like he is owed. The bill I received (AFTER my insurance company compensated him) was more than DOUBLE what is usual and customary for the same services in the Phoenix area. My EOB says I owe nothing, but he's billing me for thousands more! When I contacted his office, the staff there told me I should appeal it with my insurance provider, even though the claim was processed correctly.
Medical billing practices like these should be outlawed! Oh wait, that's right...they ARE! But unfortunately for me, the law won't go into effect until next year. In the meantime, you've been warned!
