McDonald Review My name is Dr. Roy Nakai and I am a retired Pediatric Dentist in Southern California. I worked as a software trainer, lecturer and consultant for EagleSoft, one of the largest dental computer software companies in the industry. One of my roles for the company was to call on “influential” and “high end users”… dentist that used our software and wrote articles in dental journals or gave the company feedback as to the pros and cons of program…thus, enabling us to continue improving and staying on the cutting edge of dental software products. On my first visit in 2000 to Jim’s office in Scottsdale, AZ, I was amazed to see an entire air-conditioned room specifically dedicated to computer servers and backups. I remember saying to myself, “Wow, this guy is a serious computer user.” From my experience with the many dentists that I would call on, very few knew the importance of computer data storage or even where the computer component units were. Jim and his friendly staff were very familiar with our program but wanted to know how to use more features that they could utilize to be more efficient and ultimately better serve their patients. For many years I was experiencing temporal mandibular joint (TMJ) problems as well as wanting to improve the esthetic appearance of my teeth. After all, I was a lecturer for EagleSoft speaking weekly before hundreds of fellow dentists and their staff. In my capacity as a consultant for EagleSoft, I was in hundreds of dental offices and could see firsthand the clinical capabilities of the dentist. I selected Jim to do my full mouth reconstruction in 2003 because I felt that he was a superb clinician as well as being on the cutting edge of dental technology and TMJ disorders. Every place I travel, people, even strangers, will compliment me on my smile and teeth. Most can’t believe that I have such nice natural looking teeth, a compliment to Jim’s clinical expertise. I just returned from Jim’s office, a beautiful newly built facility, for my semi-annual recall visit. On his private office desk was a whole stack of new dental textbooks and manuals on the newest dental x-ray equipment and implant procedures. He was in the process of buying the x-ray units and was currently negotiating with a dental supply company for their purchase, at a very expensive price tag for each. His comment to me was, “sometimes you just have to bite the bullet in order to remain on the cutting edge of dentistry and provide optimum care for your patients.” This in a nutshell is Dr. James McDonald, DDS, a dedicated and always concerned professional.

Dr. Jim has been my dentist for 30+ years. He is the one that diagnosed my TMJ after many failed attempts to figure out why I was getting debilitating headaches. He fixed me! Then he put braces on both of my kids and has continued to treat us with the finest dental care available. He has now made my smile even more perfect with beautiful crowns on every one of my teeth. He is amazing and his staff is outstanding. I am lucky to call them all friends now and would never trust anyone else with my teeth. I highly recommend McDonald Dental

Dr. McDonald pursues dentistry as a calling to serve others. I have complete trust in his work. His staff have all learned to care about the patient as a person first. I highly recommend this practice to anyone who wants the best dental care in the valley.
