If you are selling your house, you should list your house with Treehouse Realty because they will truly get you the highest possible selling price on your house. This is because the realtor will discuss numbers with the buyer's realtors and will disclose who has put in offers and what their offers are. Then, Treehouse Realty will pretend that your offer is some happenstance bid that is slightly higher than the next buyer. In reality, Treehouse just tells you how much the best offer is that they've already received so you can outbid them . So, if you're selling your house, I can't recommend this realty enough.
If, however, you are purchasing a house that is represented by Treehouse Realty, you should beware that they will orally promise you that you have an agreement, and as you are waiting for the documents to be signed and sent back to you, they will encourage their seller to agree with someone else. That is what happened to us. When our agent called to discover why the offer had not been sent back, Treehouse Realty will not return your phone calls or give you any reasoning.
I don't think any of this is illegal, and quite honestly, I know that if you do not have a signed document in hand, there is no deal. I understand all of that. I'm just saying that it's wrong to play people that way. Don't orally agree to take an offer, and then ghost someone.
When Treehouse Realty was finally contacted, they suggested to us that we take a look at another house in the area that Treehouse represented. Maybe we would get that one? Thanks, Treehouse, but I don't think I'll be playing the same games with you again.
Again, not illegal--just not very ethical.
