image Worst company ever! After your billing is done and you get told that you owe nothing to them. They will ding your credit report for a measly $100 with no notification letter in the mail or phone call. Bad business!

image Raised rates for no reason. Customer service is unhelpful.
EDIT1: They reply to this comment to appear to be helpful, but after DM'ing them, they said there's nothing they can do and waste even more of my time. That's so much worse than not responding at all.
EDIT2: Trying to disconnect my service and said do it in June. Suddenly got a text that a technician was coming to my house tomorrow to disconnect service 2 weeks early. Now i've been transferred 3 times and have to go through hoops to get them to do it correctly. They only let you cancel at the end of a billing cycle so if you move out mid-cycle, you either go without internet for those weeks, or pay for extra weeks where you won't be living in the house.
EDIT3: its hard to believe theyve gotten worse since becoming optimum but wow. A call to disconnect that should have been 5 min ended up being 45 min because the rep refused to let me cancel service without providing my new address and trying to sell me service or have me figure out how to transfer service to the new tenants of which I have no relation to and no idea who it is. (like i'm supposed to sell service to the next tenants for them? is that a joke?) I told him at least 7 times I already purchased new service and not interested, yet he kept putting me on hold, then asking again, and round in circles we went. Amazingly unprofessional.

image My mother has had service with Suddenlink since 2014. Stating that we both are completely disgusted with Optimum taking over is a huge understatement. With prices increasing twice already in the past year, my mom finally called to renegotiate the price. She didnt get a great deal, but at least they were going to send her a new modem since the previous one had been acting up for quite a while. She wanted to just have them send it to her since I could easily set up the new box for her, but they said a technician had to come and do it, but that she would not be charged. The date it was scheduled for they were supposed to come between 2 and 5 p.m. At 5:30 p.m. they had not shown up yet, and my mother called them. She was told by an automated system that now they will not be showing up until between 7 and 8 p.m.
To make it even worse she was told that if she wanted to she could just cancel the appointment and go down to the local office and switch out the equipment. She had asked if she could do that when she set up the initial appointment, and was told that no, the technician had to come out.
So now she has wasted an entire afternoon sitting around, waiting for technicians that never showed, and will have to take the time to go down to the office to change out the boxes as well. She couldve done that herself in less than an hour this afternoon if customer service had told her that originally, instead of insisting a technician had to come out and waste her afternoon waiting for them to never show up.
When she called back to tell them she was going to do just that at 6 p.m., the automated system stated that office hours were closed. I dont get that one. After talking to so many customer service representatives, it is obvious that all the calls are being transferred to India, which is on a completely different time zone than us.
Looks like shell be canceling her service and going to CenturyLink instead. I cant imagine the service can be any worse, and they are offering far better deals. She never had a problem with Suddenlink, but since Optimum took over, customer service has gone down considerably. Stay far away from dealings with this company if you can.

image I have only had minimum interruptions in internet service in the year Suddenlink transferred over to Optimum, but I have had zero luck in getting any consistent information when contacting support through both the chat function & a phone call. The biggest struggle seems to be understanding English as some chat replies aren't correctly constructed & some phone calls there is a huge barrier in attempting to understand each other. It has become frustrating trying to resolve any issues with Optimum due to how inconsistent the "solutions" are, things not being completed after being told they would be & not being able to communicate properly. This review has boiled down to mostly be based on the severely bad experience using any form of a support team for issues.
