We were marooned in Gustavus for a week before the busy season started. The lodge was very clean and comfortable. The Hosts were extremely helpful, and charming. And the town had interesting feel. Updated. New lodge...Stay here.. They have been great. They are the best cabins in Gustavus. Clean, Simple and comfortable. We've stayed three time in the last four years. This year 2021 they lost our reservation. Scrabbled for rooms cost us an extra $1,000 for 5 nights. Great Fishing. We will try them again.

During our Yukon/Alaska vacation we decided to take in the boat tour of Glacier Bay National Park. For our two nights of lodging, we selected the Cottonwood Lodge and Cabins. Frank picked us up at the Gustavus airport and gave us a ride to the Lodge. The room was quiet, clean, and comfortable. There was no Wi-Fi so if you want to disconnect this is your place. In fact, to get Wi-Fi we had to travel to the Glacier Bay National Park visitors center (7 miles) or go to the Gustavus Library (1 mile). Wanting to disconnect for a few days, it was perfect for us. The lack of Wi-Fi was not problem. However, finding food in Gustavus was challenging. After arriving on the 4:00 pm flight, we found that there were no cafes/restaurants open on Tuesday or Wednesday. Thankfully we had packed some food and we also visited the local grocery store that had limited options. If you are looking for a stop at a resort Gustavus and the Cottonwood Lodge might not be your gig, but if you are looking for clean, comfortable
accommodations, and a way to unplug it is the perfect place. It is all in your expectations. We did have to hire a local taxi service to get us back to the Alaskan Marine Highway when we departed.
