Beware of shady business practices at Ion Tuscaloosa! I saw many good reviews of Ion before my daughter moved in which was part of our decision to rent there. I hope my honest feedback is helpful to anyone thinking about renting at Ion Tuscaloosa. My daughter lived at Ion for 2 years. We signed up with one of their pricing deals which seemed reasonable. Day 1 - the complex was filthy and the apartment, while not as bad as the nasty hallways and elevator, was dirty. However it is a huge complex with a hectic check in process so we just went out and bought cleaning supplies and cleaned it ourselves. In the first year my daughter's keys were stolen while she was in the pool and then her car was stolen from the garage using the stolen keys. Ion was no help - their security is lackluster. Thankfully we got the car back weeks later - it was in the hands of a known criminal in a nearby town - he was wanted for some gun violence charges. Fast forward 2 years as we were moving out, and as rent had gone up approx 50%. We get hit with a $100 cleaning fee after my daughter cleaned the apartment before moving out. They said we owed it because she hung stuff on walls that already were riddled with nail holes. We tried talking to them, no help. You can either not reach anyone or it is a college student. Most of the college students are nice, but they are not empowered to do anything. We also responded electronically and thought they finally were leaving us alone. Now, 8 months after moving out, they are sending us to collections. There is zero recourse - pay their scammy fines or ruin your credit. This is a horrible complex and I hope sharing our experience saves others from living here! I have filed a complaint with the BBB after being forced to pay the disputed fines.

Meghan is definitely an amazing asset to this place! She is super nice and helps resolve my issues in my apartment! Highly recommend ION if you are looking for housing close to LSU

ION has a LOT of problems, first of all the reviews on google are definitely faked, or the bad ones deleted by Ion , checkout the reviews on yelp for a more accurate description.
The staff is probably the only good part about Ion , its not their fault or their decision to decide what happens and when it happens however , the management is awful. On move in we noticed our stove was not working , we contacted them and it took almost 2 weeks to get our stove to work. The sink was not properly installed resulting in it collapsing, the drain pipe for the sink was not properly installed either , resulting in our sinks drain spewing water onto our floor. We were guaranteed a premium pool view , but did not receive one and still pay a monthly fee for it . Nothing had been deep cleaned either , hair still on the bathroom floor , staining , couches with crumbs still in the crevices, poor paint jobs.
Seriously reconsider living elsewhere if you prefer to live in a clean environment. Do not let the several 5 star reviews fool you . They are most definitely fake. Anyone in their right mind would understand that after living here.
Also if mobility is a concern for you , good luck, the elevators have not been working since November, they were actually operating with expired licenses, its now April.
If safety is a concern, there are several gates around the apartment that stay open/ unlocked 24/7. There are no cameras in the garage.
The cons of living at ion out way the pros by far.
