The pictures are so much nicer than the reality. The hotel is truly fine - but the details are just not done well. The hotel is very charming however as an elite Hilton property it is simply not in good repair. I found the staff to be very unengaged when asking questions. There were bugs in the room (so I handled but was surprised). The breakfast menu excluded all fresh items - so oatmeal in a carton it was - and the coffee ran out. I wanted the hotel to be nicer in my mind - it just was not. The city of Selma itself is in such disrepair that perhaps higher ratings compare it to the rundown city itself.

Ok, some people have posted issues. Yes, it's an older hotel...... but... It's historic and absolutely Beautiful. When we arrived, it was late, and Ashley was very helpful and informative. We settled in our room and walked out in the courtyard. It was stunning. My panoramic pictures doesn't do it justice. The hotel does need a few cosmetic repairs but it is special. The staff was very nice and helpful. I would recommend the hotel to purchase a building next to them for small conferences and meetings. You do have a special hotel and it's historic. I would Market those areas and go after the groups. You can do it. Thank you all for our stay. Oh yes they are also in the Hilton group.
Rooms: Spacious, clean, great atmosphere.
Noteworthy details: Historical Hotel, Beautiful courtyard. Brick and hardwood floors. Beautiful Staircase. The Atmosphere in the hotel was awesome.
