Cleanliness is a big issue for me. The hygienist should replace their gloves anytime they leave the area of care or have to touch drawers or cabinets. They should also have the sterile tools wrapped when you come to the treatment area until they start working in your mouth. I sat and watched the hygienist leave my chair with gloves on to find a tool she needed, then come back with those same gloves on and start opening drawers and then go right back in my mouth without replacing her gloves.
The dentist rests his hands on his lap while placing the gloves on which is also unsanitary. None of this ever okay but especially not in the COVID environment. I already have my future cleanings scheduled with a different dentist.

Ive been going to smiles of Madison for around two years now- I had a crown put on maybe a year and a half ago, it took 6 hours total for him to put it in- it just fell out tonight. I had a filling that had to be replaced twice and part of it has fallen out since the last time he “fixed” it. Part of another filling on another tooth has fallen out. He misdiagnosed a cavity as staining, part of my tooth broke from decay and I needed a crown. It takes hours to have anything done because he schedules too many appointments around the same time. My ex husband went to him to have a filling done. Had to be done twice, just like mine, and then he ended up needing a crown on that tooth when the filling failed the second time. I hate writing this because I really like Dr. Matt as a person, but this is absolutely ridiculous. Pretty much all the work he’s done has failed, except for one filling and I’m just waiting to have an issue with that too.

I just had a dental implant procedure done today by Dr. Matt. Everything went off without a problem. His staff was very attentive and saw to it that I was made comfortable for the whole procedure.
With the procedure itself, I hardly felt a thing from the first drill bit in the bone to the placement of the implant itself. I was actually awed by how painless the implant procedure was.
And the cherry on top of the whole package was that Dr. Matt actually called me later on in the evening to see how I was doing. I don't know about you, but I don't know of many dentists in the past that have done that for their patients.
Finally, if you are going to have an implant procedure done here...I highly recommend that you get the laughing gas. You are going to be feeling like a million bucks...even before Dr. Matt gets in. And the price that he charges for the laughing gas is far lower than what most dentists charge (mid $30's).
So if you are in the market for dental implants, I highly recommend Dr. Matt an Smiles of Madison Dentistry for that procedure.
