We recently lost my grandfather and discovered that pre-pay doesn't actually mean pre-pay here. My 90-year-old grandmother was hit up for an additional $2,000 for my grandfather's service that was supposed to be paid in full. By explanation, they told my family they had been bought out a few years ago, so it doesn't appear they honor previous contracts. Some additional charges included digging a grave and playing music during the service. Things that I thought were pretty typical for a funeral. Sandra was also very abrupt with several family members and clergy and tried to rush us through the service. I will also add, I did not think they did a good job preparing my grandfather. He didn't look like himself at all. They weren't very hospitable to a grieving family; the only refreshments provided for family members were a few bottles of room temperature soda and mini waters shoved in a corner. Overall, a very poor experience during a difficult time for our family.
Edit: After posting this review, the regional contact reached out to my grandmother. After some discussions, he refunded her the additional amount over her original contract. She was very grateful and told me he treated with respect, which I appreciate. I'm not removing this review however, because I don't feel any actions would have been taken without it, and others should beware. While the additional charges this company received from my grandmother may not be much to them, it was a big hit to her monthly budget and impacted her greatly. They should consider doing what is right because it is the right thing to do, not because someone posts a negative review.

Jefferson Memorial Funeral home is a very nice and friendly place to use for your funeral. This is where my mom and dad are buried. I also have my grandparents and uncles and aunt and also friends buried in the cemetery. If you need a good place to call for funeral arrangements please call Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville. It is a beautiful place inside and out.
