Best Dentist ever. He's fine all my major dental work except one time I had another dentist do some work while living in Florida and had to come to Birmingham for Dr. Park to fix their mistakes. He's an Alabama fan but other than that he's the best Dentist ever.

I started using Dr. Pak about 2 yrs ago. I've had nothing but issues. 1st, went in for a tooth ache. Find out I need a root canal. He fit my crown for the wrong tooth. After several trips back we worked it out. I decided to give him another chance. Next, I have an abscess (still). A month ago I went to him about it. He couldn't figure out why it was an abscessing from the x-rays. He sent me back to the root canal guys from 2 years ago to re-do the root canal. $400 for that. Both Dr.'s prescribed 10 -14 days antibiotics. Both stressing that I must take them all. A week ago I went the emergency room and was diagnosed with C-Diff from all the antibiotics and could have died. The ONE good thing that came of all this is the C-Diff Meds are actually helping the abscess. I've had my teeth cleaned there with no issue. The Tech's are great. But if you need anything beyond a cleaning, look elsewhere.

UPDATE: Since I posted the review (see excerpt below) in 2019 on yelp (now hidden under "we do not recommend this review"), the one abscess tooth that occurred after Dr. Pak's botched cosmetic dental work had grown to 8 abscess teeth by 2021. His staff (front desk & dental assistants) were kind and professional, the dental office was very clean and the dental equipment was modern/state of the art. My sole complaint, along with so many others who've written similar reviews over the years, is with Dr. Stephen H. Pak. DDS and not necessarily with his staff. Furthermore, I've had two dental practices who has given me written assessments of around $80k (eighty thousand dollars) to repair the damage that Dr. Pak's malpractice has caused. With no insurance to cover that amount of work nor cost, one dentist even asked me did I have a house that I could sell or mortgage? (now that's serious). Unfortunately I had to answer "no". This is why the AL Dental Board of Examiners should step in and change their 2 year statue of limitations on cases like this, and also hire people to read and take serious; online reviews like mine. One Law Firm dismissed me as a client (right before the Christmas Holiday) and 1 month before the SOL. Other Med-Mal Law Firms refused my case because it was so close to the Statute of Limitations mainly due to Dr. Pak's refusal to acknowledge the letter of representation sent to him by my then "personal injury" lawyer who 1st told me that they usually outsourced Med-Mal cases to Med-Mal Law Firms, but then told me that they decided to take on my case and their firm was filing a Med-Mal lawsuit, but a lawsuit was never filed. Instead, they treated my case as a "personal injury case" asking Pak's office for their insurance department contact info. which the lawyer(s) never received. Yes, It's been an ongoing nightmare with both the Legal & Medical practices in Alabama (USA) that must start being held more accountable for their mistreatment of their clients and patients, especially those who are uninsured and may not have enough money to do what needs to be done from a medical and legal standpoint. GOOD NEWS: a recent maxillofacial MRI showed only one (1) 8mm abscess (in a different place than the 1st abscess) which means that my home-remedies/holistic approach to helping myself through this traumatic experience is successful even though it's a daily regimen re: the remaining abscess... however, the oversized crowns, misalignment causing the jaw pain, aching, headaches & ringing of the ears, soar bleeding gums, broken molar will still have to be corrected. PATIENT & CLIENT ADVOCATES ARE WELCOME TO ADVISE!

Then, as he walked me out into the lobby, I asked Dr. Pak how did I get an infection? He answered with a grin on his face, "because your new teeth are misaligned, your bottom tooth hit your top tooth & caused trauma. Now you know your dentist is not perfect." Yes, Dr. Pak misaligned my teeth to the point that it changed the shape of my face, it aged me at least 10 years. I saw this based on photos taken of me just months before going to him, & it was shown to me through demonstration by a well-known celebrity Aesthetic Dentist when I went to get an Assessment of the horrible dental work that Dr. Pak did & the trauma he has caused. Dr. Pak did NOT elongate my teeth to restore my jawbone length. He simply made an impression of my short teeth; 1 [lower] back tooth was chipped, & I still feel that same chipped tooth with my tongue, it's just new & abnormally thick/big now like the rest. His dental work has made it difficult for me to pronounce certain words now. I struggled with my words during 2 radio interviews about my new creative project, and my adult children [have] noticed the change in my speech & face since the dental work.
