I have been going to Troutman Family Medicine for a few years, so I have seen amazing workers come and go. I have a few that's still there one just had a baby, one is still in her honey mood stage and my check out lady. I'm not sharing names because I do not have their permission but they know how much they mean to me.

Office staff is friendly, but my experience with Dr Patel and his PA, Jeanie Pierce was horrible. I saw Dr patel several times years back and every time I saw him he never listened to what I was saying or answered any questions, he would instead refer me out to any other office in his network he could think of because I'm assuming he gets a kickback from referrals. The last PA I saw there always acted like it was a major inconvenience to deal with me. She was short with her answers, and consistently made me feel like a bother when I asked questions. My wife came to one of the visits with me and noticed as well, resulting in her taking me to a new drs office immediately after said visit. The final straw was her coming up with a treatment plan that involved starting on a low dose to make sure I had no negative reaction, then stating she would up the dosage once I saw it didn't send me to the hospital like the medication prior to that did; then refusing to up the dosage until I came in and spent another $150 on an office visit. I relayed to her staff what we had discussed, and her response was that if I couldn't afford it that I should just go to the health department from now on.. which was not at all what her and I had discussed during my last visit. Based on my experience, neither one of these bozos should be practicing medicine.

This has happened many times over the years but this time I decided to challenge it. I scheduled a physical which is totally covered by my insurance. I now have multiple charges. My insurance company said the doctor's office did not code a number of items as preventative and need to resubmit. When I called Piedmont to resolve the issue, they told me certain items were not preventative plus I was charged a separate office visit even though I had only been to the office once. I purposely turned down 5 suggestions due to this happening in the past. I did not ask for anything I did not feel was part of a physical. I will be changing to a facility that is not part of Piedmont Healthcare as I feel this is just designed to get them paid more.

Shady billing practices at this location. Dont go here for your physicals, they always find a way to bill you for it in a way your insurance wont cover.
