image It was a pleasure being a tenant for the duration of my college semester with Blackstone Williams. I definitely recommend it to any BU or NEU students looking for a really nice, furnished place downtown

The reason Im writing this review is because of what I was told by John Becker in-person in regards to my financial documents for 868D Beacon St. I am a student at Berklee and he told me that my mothers income wasnt enough for this place which I already knew and I told him that my Direct Parent Plus Loan (by the way I have always been approved for and also used reliably for my entire college education before I even came to Berklee) would be used towards this apartment. The loan was how I paid for the current place I need to move from and it has always been reliable. The loan for the summer semester for school (the timeframe I would need to move by) was already approved by FAFSA. I went to my schools financial aid office physically and I asked them for documentation for this current summer semester to show that the funds have been approved and were available and they werent able to give me anything. They gave me an award letter which is their basic proof that they have received loans from me. The award letter shows tuition costs, the credit of the refund, and etc. Days before, I sent my agent, Will Argabrite, two semesters worth of approved Direct Parent PLUS loan documents from the previous semesters (fall & spring) that I have spent at Berklee in regards to my Direct Parent PLUS loans. I clearly have done this before with my mom and I was approved with more than enough money to pay for housing for an entire year for 868D Beacon St. It was the fact that John even had to ask me if the loan money was being used towards anything other than housing and insinuated that the property management company wouldnt know if my mom bought something for herself with the loan money and that extremely offended me. He also told me that if I was to argue with the property management company about why they didnt pick me that it would make me look even worse of a tenant to choose from. He only said this to me because I was defending myself calmly that my loan is for tuition and housing alone which he didnt seem to get. I felt like I had to keep proving that I was financially able to cover rent for this place and I even considered sending my agent, Will, Venmo receipts from my mom and my current terrible landlord (who doesnt respect my roommates or Is boundaries) and also giving my landlords contact number. If I felt like this, it was not a good sign to keep moving forward. First of all, its illegal to keep loan credit money from the government and use it towards personal expenses and John was so quick to assume that my mother and I use the money towards something else other than what I said. Second of all, it wouldnt be Johns or anyones business in regards to what the loan money is being used for and I already stated that it was for tuition and housing multiple times. Third of all, I have never been asked so much in depth about my Direct Parent PLUS Loan and my documentation that I spent over a week getting together with my mother should have been more than enough. The money is there and the property management company would have received their rent payment every month at a timely manner which is the exact point of this entire exchange. Fourth of all, I am also a black woman and I know that if a white person entered Blackstone Realty with the same circumstance as me, John would have not acted the same way that he did with me. In fact, he would pity them and try his best to help. I did not appreciate his continuous and insensitive tangent about my overall chances because of the loan and he was even laughing about my reaction with one of his co-workers. I didnt even get a chance to fully apply for the apartment yet and he already assumed that it would be a no because he says hes experienced and has done this before. Also, my agent, Will Argabrite, was terrible. He ghosted me towards the end and was the entire reason I went to Blackstone in-person in the first place. He didnt even tell me that the rent was raised an extra $100 and he knew I had a strict budget as well.
