On April 8, 2024, our group of five from Taiwan experienced exceptionally poor service at Mount Vernon Restaurant & Pub. Initially, we were pressured by a dismissive hostess to order more drinks than desired. Her attitude soured further when we opted for only one beer, becoming visibly unpleasant towards us. Her behavior escalated when, on two separate occasions while clearing our table, she deliberately knocked food onto our laps - first a sizeable piece of bread, then lobster shells. Such actions, repeated with intent, were too pointed to be accidental. Additionally, she was confrontationally rude when we attempted to pay at the counter, wrongfully suspecting us of attempting to leave without paying.
We were also unexpectedly charged a splitting fee for sharing a single lobster, despite not requesting it be divided by the staff into individual portions. This fee, coupled with the lack of clear communication and inconsistency in its application, as noted by friends who weren't charged under similar circumstances, was unjust.
This visit was deeply disappointing, highlighting a need for significant improvements in staff training to ensure future guests do not encounter such unwelcoming treatment.

I did not have a pleasant dining experience and it was my first time coming here and I was really looking forward to this spot because the pasta that I was so happy to eat matter of fact I pushed people out of the way to get to it it ended up tasting awful it had a very weird taste of sauce especially the chicken it was like they had the chicken the freezer for a long time and had barely taken it out. It only got worse from here because I was going to the restroom and I closed the door or at least I thought I did because I heard the click sound, however, when I was in the middle of doing my business the door swings open and I got scared and I thought I was going to be murdered on the spot, however, I am still alive but it was not a pleasant thing to deal with because you wouldn't want to be doing your business for a person to just come and open your door as quickly as they possibly can. Do yourself a favor and avoid going to the restroom at this restroom or matter of fact just don't come. With lots of love I encourage you not to come for the sake of your health and appetite.
Vegetarian options: Since I am not vegetarian I really wouldn't know what to say except...Good Luck.
