Jason and Gail and their entire team have been nothing short of wonderful to work with. Jason is a true artist in the old world style of a craftsperson who genuinely cares about what he creates. Gail takes care of the business details and is responsive and clear in her communications. You couldn't meet a kinder human than Seth, who installed our tub. Don't be dissuaded by the couple of people who left 1 star reviews. I love the hot tub, the cabinet, and the service that has been provided by J&K Cedar Works. I'm in my tub first thing every morning and the last thing before I go to bed at night. A real life changer.

I got my 6' tub from J & K just over a year ago.
To me, this company clearly provides high quality cedar tubs. It is worth noting that it is beneficial to have some patience during the whole process. Especially in the Fall/Winter months which is when I ordered mine. About the same time everyone else also started dreaming about their Winter hot tub lifestyle and placing their own POs.
I wanted project updates as frequently as I could get them. I probably borderline pestered the company with emails and calls. While I did not always receive responses right away, I did get responses in a fairly timely manner.
The folks that came over at various stages of the install to do work were all very kind and informative. Deck cutter, hole diggers, concrete pad layers, tub movers, bench builder and electric/plumber. I asked a lot of questions and they were all a pleasure to chat with about the product and process. I guarantee I was one of the most inquisitive hot tub newbies they've ever talked to, but they were only ever helpful to me and not remotely condescending.
The quality of the tub is one of my favorite parts. It is beautiful work. I'm glad I didn't try and build one myself. I see other people's complaints, but mine has worked perfectly since day one. The only quality problem I've had is from a squirrel chewing on my control panel wire, but I resoldered it and it is doing great.
If I were to do it all again, I would certainly stick with a cedar tub and I would order again from J & K. Though I would try to order in the Spring or Summer. I would also recommend getting a tub that is just over your height in diameter. I'd also have put my control panel wire into some tubing slightly sooner.

To say that my experience with JK CEDAR TUBS was a bad one would be a disservice to the honesty of this review.
It was a living NIGHTMARE.
The owner of the company, Jason, is completely and utterly incapable of running a business and he has absolutely no regard for customers or their concerns.
All he cares about is his bottom line.
As a homeowner of many different properties over the last 20 years, I have been involved in construction on all levels and even built and rebuilt houses alongside all sorts of contractors and subcontractors.
I have never experienced this level of incompetency from a business before.
I spent a lot of money on a 7 foot tub with all the "bells and whistles" and it has been nothing short of awful.
JK cedar tubs has cost me thousands of dollars in repairs, unnecessary change orders, labor fees, confusion, headaches, months of delays, etc.
Even the people who work with me were bewildered by Jasons rude, dismissive, passive aggressive, and frankly odd/ concerning behavior.
He is absolutely incapable of answering a question clearly.
Everything is condescending and arrogant. He acts as if he is smarter than everyone, and belittles you for asking a question.
There is zero clarity and most importantly he REFUSES to acknowledge a mistake. Not once has he said "I am sorry for the troubles. I am sorry for the delays. I am sorry your light doesn't work. I am sorry the wood was not cut properly". NOTHING. Yet I am the customer who had to shell out thousands and thousands of dollars because of HIS mistakes and poor communication skills.
The company takes on way too many projects, over promises, and under delivers, and charges an absolute fortune for any changes or mistakes along the way.
Not to mention, the months of delays. Instead of acknowledging/ correcting his mistakes, he sends bills and states "he won't be cursed at or belittled" and hangs up. No one cursed or belittled him in any way, he simply makes things up as a means of running away from a problem instead of fixing it.
Heed my advice and do the same: RUN- do not walk- RUN from this company.
Give your hard-earned money to the companies that care about their customers.
I sincerely hope this review saves someone from having to go through the experience that I regretfully had to go through.
