At first I was very pleased with this accountant. This was the first year ever hiring someone to do my taxes, and they were referred to me by a coworker. Paul was very respectful and even gave me some good recommendations for the future. I thought everything was smooth sailing until I received a notice from the IRS this past week stating that I owed nearly $1500.
I reached out to Paul and was told there was some miscommunication about a stimulus check, even though that had never been brought up in conversation. Everyone makes mistakes and I am not upset about that, but I am disappointed in the way this was handled after the fact, as there was no ownership over the mistake or offer to cover any of the fees (including the penalty fees). Safe to say I will be filing my own taxes from now on!
