The Escrow officer, Michelle, failed to communicate with seller and buyer in a timely fashion. She failed to alert seller of earnest money arrival. She did not look at documents until several days before closing and created a host of problems in last minute scrambling and confusion between parties. She ignored calls from the realtor representing the seller. She was continually late in letting buyer and seller know about wire transfer and what was outstanding to be able to close. We closed 3 days late due to this chaos and mismanagement. The final straw was to phone after completion of the sale and ask seller to wire back 50K because she had miscalculated and overpaid seller. She was asked to prove it and after re-checking her math called to apologize for her mistake. This is gross incompetence.
