They are not dependable or transparent. I signed up for a tax preparation over two weeks ago and was notified online that it was being worked on and I would be reached out to shortly. Two weeks go by and no updates. I finally message them and get a call from their manager stating they had no one to work on my prep and that my forms would be sent to another fulfillment site. She assured me that someone would reach out to me again within 24 hours and she would check in either way to make sure but, again, that did not happen.

H&R block in-person tax prep for a simple return (2-3 forms) is extremely expensive. I paid $440 for a very simple return that I could have done myself but wanted the peace of mind. They're not transparent with the fees upfront so I would recommend going to an independent CPA.
