I had been living under a mountain of anxiety and ingrained unhealthy coping mechanisms for several years before I found Pilar. I was looking for someone who seemed warm (as putting myself in a vulnerable position is difficult for me), who could give me practical tools to change my habits but who would lead me in talk therapy (as there were so many things I had never spoken about) and be open to some alternative therapies (I didn't know what I want but I was willing to try anything). What Pilar does better than I could have ever imagined is allowed me to work through my issues layer by layer while always kindly and professionally keeping the focus on the core of those issues and the behaviors they provoke. It has been an emotional process, deconstructing my life piece by piece to build it back up in a healthy manner and she has been the most patient and professional guide through the process. She is extremely knowledgeable of a variety of practices and tailors her methods to her individual clients. It feels like a personal process rather than making me feel like just another 'client'.
