Extremely disappointing experience. Interviewed several contractors and decided to pay a premium based on Lars' assurance that they would be on time, on budget, and had a team to manage the project. None of the promises were kept.
If you choose Lars, be prepared to pay more than you sign up for, have the project run months over schedule, and to navigate significant miscommunications between the various sub contractors.

I'm writing this review a year after our construction project was complete. The high level summary is that we are very pleased with the end result. Lars Construction did a great job.
We added a ground floor extension off the back of our home to add a bedroom, bathroom, and walk in closet. From the beginning, it was evident that Lars Construction had the resources in house to do the design and planning of our project. It started with a couple of meetings at our home to talk through what our goals were. Brandon and Jennifer offered great suggestions as we brainstormed together about what was possible given our budget and the physical space available. We then went to the office to look at sample materials and talk with designers about what we wanted with respect to finish materials, colors, and plumbing fixtures. The showroom had a plethora of samples in addition to areas where we could see products and design ideas installed. I was really impressed with the team and felt we made the right choice for our project.
I've always heard getting permits can be a challenge. For us, the permitting process was super easy because Lars handled everything. I think after one resubmittal we were ready to move forward with demo and start construction. Here's where some challenges surfaced. Lars subcontracts out to various trades to get the work done, as many companies do. As you can imagine, depending on the subcontractor, things either went quickly and on time, or there were periods of no work taking place. We were in a time coming out of COVID where everyone was doing home projects, so this was not a surprise, but it was still frustrating when meeting with the Lars project manager on a weekly basis and we discussed schedule push outs. Know this going in, regardless of who you use. There will be delays with any major construction project. That said, I think the project was completed right around the time Jennifer estimated it would be!
We had a couple of instances where we felt something wasn't done right or per the plans. In every case, we raised our concerns and spoke either with our project manager or the designer and the issue was resolved to our satisfaction. About a year after move in, we also had a warranty question with a door that appeared to not seal correctly. I called the office and shared some photos. Lars sent someone out within the week to look. It turned out there wasn't a problem with the door, but while there, the person noticed something he felt wasn't acceptable with the finish of the drywall. Lars had one of their drywall contractors come out to take care of it, and then a painter to cover up the patches.
I would definitely recommend Lars Construction. It was evident throughout the project that they have the resources either in house or through their subcontractors to get the job done right and take care of unexpected issues. The important thing is the quality of the end product, and we are extremely happy with the addition to our home. Services: Remodeling, Home addition construction

I love my new kitchen ~ Lars transformed my 1949 kitchen / Laundry and bathroom into a masterpiece now suited to year 2023. What I admired the most from this Company was their commitment to us the customer to getting the work done that was laid out before them My appliances are a dream to use and enjoy and were carefully selected under Matthew and delivered with care under Paul for the finished product . I wish to personally thank Betsy, the initial Lars representative for being attentive to our project ,all along the way, She always checked in during intervals of highs and lows , to see how I was doing, and answered all my questionsI cherish the friendships and the many people of the different trades I met along the way. I thank this Company for the leadership, attention, and service to us through the long road of remodeling these areas of our home . We are very much enjoying our new kitchen, 1/2 bath, Laundry room.
