I have been a client of Mike Day's/Accountant Plus for over 14 years.  I assumed during such a time that a rapport, and a professional relationship would be established.  Mike was very aware of my last 5 yr struggle with Cancer and my long term disability from the effects of chemo/rad and multiple surgeries.  I assumed this would also make him understanding and compassionate.  First in the 2012 tax year, (filing 2011 taxes) this tax year was exceptionally trying because though I had been receiving long term disability from my work, my Federal Disability kicked in in late Dec. 2011.  However, ALL Monies given by the Federal Government had to be repaid to my company disability.  The way MIKE filed made it seem as if I made double the amount ie., over $70k, when effect I had paid almost ALL of monies from Work Disability back.  Mike said, "not to worry, let me get a handle on this tax season" and I will amend this year".  I wrote and called him until Sept 2012.  When we met for the 2013 tax year and I could get him face to face to speak to him (since I am ill and mostly home bound I could not confront him sooner) and I asked why he hadn't helped as he promised?  His reply, "yeah, well that was a lot of work, and I really didn't want to do it"...I was dumbfounded.  He also told me his 18 yr old daughter would handle my claim the next year because my "taxes were so easy they really were not worth is time".  SO on April 28, 2014 I received a notice from the IRS that I had until May 21, 2014 to rectify either an error in my filing for 2013 or that I owed back taxes (though Mike had me receiving a refund).  I immediately put in a call to Mike Day.  He returned a voice message within a few days.  I emailed him and called him, explained the issues, and had my daughter drop off a copy of the IRS Letter with the intention of resolving the issue quickly.  Mike said, "it must be your error in providing information or the IRS, I really do not make mistakes". It has been 3 weeks, I must reply to the IRS in 1 week, and Mike will not answer any emails or contact me.  Would you really want to do business with someone like this....yeah me neither anymore...except I do want him to rectify his errors, because clearly...he isn't perfect!
