Urgent Care referred me, with a priority status, to this practice after what seemed to be a twisted ankle turned out to be a displaced fracture requiring surgery. Two days later having not received a date for consultation I called the practice to inquire about when I could see the surgeon. I was told it could take another three days to get a call back but that I was in the referral queue. The next contact was two weeks later when a form letter, signed by Dr. Richard Marder, arrived saying they could not accept the referral because of a shortage of appointment times.
Thankfully, since I had heard nothing from Dr. Marder and the clinic, I had seen someone else (recommended by fellow marathoners) and was already scheduled for surgery when I received the letter.
It is understandable that they may not have enough time to see all referrals but a displaced fracture should at the very least have elicited a phone call and a suggestion of who else might be able to take the case. In my opinion the way my referral was handled demonstrates a profound lack of professionalism and a disregard for patient care.

He repaired my right rotator cuff that had been broken for a year and had pulled apart by almost an inch and he was able to fix that and the surgery was very difficult and it was wonderful to have my arm back. He has a great demeanor and will answer your questions and not make you feel like you are bothering him or wasting his time. He specializes in shoulder repair.
